I play EQ2 (MMORPG) quite often and have found that this device is a huge timesaver for crafting when I want to grind through a few levels. It's also wonderful for my healer class toon in regular adventuring. I find I'm faster in dealing out the spells and able to heal and do damage more efficiently. Since I broke my right wrist several years ago, I've had problems gaming with a mouse for extended periods of time. Because the N52te is designed for left-handed use, it has made the gaming experience more comfortable and enjoyable. A great buy if you have no trouble utilizing your left hand for quick keystrokes and can remember specific key set-ups easily.
Took a bit of a learning curve to get the software setup correctly, but I've got it dialed now and it works great. I play wow with it, and at first it felt like there wasn't enough buttons, but using the dpad to move freed up alot of finger room. Dpad for movement, thumb key for vent, scroll wheel to change spec/keybinds. A+
Ok, what's not to like about this beautiful and functional game input device? Seriously, this thing is sturdy, you can program it any way you'd like, it looks just gorgeous, and this is the best price for it I found on the internet - even better than eBay! Setup was super easy and it works great for World of Warcraft.
Great product, works very well. Software takes a little bit of tweaking, and isn't that bad once you get use to it. Also for people that have read about the D-Pad not working well, this was true off the start once I opened it and got it all hooked up. However, once I updated the FIRMWARE, and installed the lastest drivers the D-Pad worked FLAWLESS. I would highly recommend the n52te if your serious about improving your gaming skills, and its very comfortable.
This is my first left handed game pad. I do not know how I survived without one before. So far the Nostromo Speedpad has truly exceeded my expectations. As a 'joystick' for my left hand it works as I expected, but the versatility of the software is what has made it truly usefull! I do some first person shooters, 3rd person strategy and a lot of MMORPG gaming. So far it has upped my game for all three. The macro's are great. I have mine set up to do combination attacks with needed pauses for Lord of the Rings Online. What a time saver, especially when battling on People VS. People play in the Ettenmoors. The software made it easy. You pretty much have to save the changes to the device after every button change. That seemed a little repetitive and time consuming, but because it has built in memory I can switch it to another computer and not start over. That is a pretty sweet trade off in my book! Ergonomically the Speedpad feels great, all the buttons fall easily to the hand. It is even adjustable for larger hands. The finish is very nice with an interisting mixture of smooth and matte finishes to spice up what would otherwise simply be black. The light to let you know which of the configurations you are using is a nice touch, but I wish I could turn it off as it is quite bright. Also a plus, the warrantee is so good I did a double take. I wish I could say that about the T.V. I just bought! :) You can use the Nostromo Speedpad to strafe aliens, orcs, or otherwise. Or you can use it to be more productive working on a spreadsheet for the boss. Either way, you will get better results, and probably look cooler in the end if you use this device!
works very good for gaming, the only thing i dislike is the side movement button its a tad outa sinc with the feel i was looking for. but ya can and(or) will get use to it. well worth the money here. its the cheapest place i could find it.
only complaint is that it alters all the keys on my normal keyboard as well ... i go to type something, and hit "caps loc" and it initiates an attack ffor example instead of doing the normal "caps loc" thing ... as far as fighting goes, it's really handy (once you get used to it), my biggest gripe is that "backwards walking" is still hard., and though i shouldn't be giving away my pwnidge trickery, i have found that putting stickers with different textures on the keys helps (cork, felt, hard plastic bubble, velcro, cotton, etc, etc) ...it's a pretty kool device for the obsessive gamer
This device basically uses the Razor's Core for it's operations, so it's basically similar if you have used other Razor Products. But this device in particular is good from the perspective that I can have 3 sets of 15 keys each, meaning 45 different combinations can be set. This gives a good option as you can use each of the 3 sets for say 3 different applications or games. In case you need more profiles, you can always save it locally and move it into the device when you need it. One good thing about the device is that you can store the profile in the device using the n52te editor. But in case you connect it to another PC which does not have the editor, the loaded profile still works, which is probably the best part of it as you many not have the privileges to install software in gaming centers or work PCs. The macro is good in full capacity, allowing you to program the keys using the Virtual Key strokes, allowing you to produce any key combinations that you would want. Ergonomically 3 keys towards your palm is a little difficult to use if you have a large palm or long fingers - the keys will virtually be inaccessible.
This thing is a little powerhouse. It has everything you need to rip through raids and instances.....if you can figure it out. It does not come with a manual and the directions that i could find were pretty vague. You have to have prior knowledge of how to write macros in order to fully utilize this. if you have big hands reaching some of the buttons may be a challenge, as the keyboard feels a little cramped. the joystick-dpad does not work well for directionals. I was only able to get the basic movement for aswd out of it as well as a few keys bound for attacks.... so go for it if your knowledgeable enough to program it.. otherwise steer clear stick with your keyboard or get an extra 10 key.
I bought the n52te six months a go,I put everything I had into the device for the first three months and it was hard to learn,I spent two more months working fine tuning,It was tough,[1] The keys are too close together,I can't find everything I can only put five weapons on this pad for what I am able to do,[2]The hand rest is the worst,It is fixed & molded I can't move my hand the way I need to,[3]The D pad is a Joke,It has no diagonal movements,A really big part of my game is down the drain truly,At the time I did not know what I was really looking for in a game pad now i do,It is the excite opposite of this seriously, And no button switch D pad for movements,They are inferior,In my opinion,They said it was a eight way programmable D pad,But not if you want to use it for movements,They showed have told me that,But instead I have been stuck with their product that they knew I would never be able to use at it's full potential,If something is missing I can't learn that, several months of hard work for a D pad that will run right off a walkway & fall off & i don't mean a board between two buildings,If they had a patch for the diagonal movements I could have given it three stars,I have finally learned this game pad,I have a good gaming mouse and it is able to take care of the rest,If something better is out there,Not a lot to choose from, I will read anything pertaining to it,If it does not have the features I need I can't use it, it's all got to be there or it is useless,It's all the work I put into it,This is were the pay off should have been.My mistake was I thought the only reason to buy a game pad was for the D pad to use for movements, But my i was in for a big surprise,People also want this device as & ergonomic keypad,If you buy this product I hope you will be happy with it many people are,For me every one has to start somewhere.
