I now have 2 of these...the first one I bought at the beach about 10 years ago...love these rods. They are reasonably priced and have excellent power to reel in the big ones.
This is my second Glowstick purchase. If it works as well as my first one, I will be extremely satisfied. I had no problem wearing down a 35lb. plus bull Redfish as well as many other saltwater fish in the surf.
I know own a total of 6 of these rods, and would not use anything else.
Used it for one year now reeling in 30lb-40lb channel catfish like a charm.
Great product. The green glowing last for a few hours, then you can flip the light on for a few minutes to continue seeing the rod. After a few minutes under battery power, turn it back off and it will have regained some of its green glow back. Nice rod for the Cats!
I bought the 8' casting model to put my Abu 6500 on. Beautiful! With 20lb mono, and a 3oz weight, it casts awesome. Haven't caught any fish yet on it, but feels like an awesome rod, and I have not doubts. The handle is quite a bit thicker than my other rods, but not bad enough to take off a star. Can't say anything about the led light, because I haven't used that feature.Would definitely recommend this rod if you're using a 6500 or 7000 size Abu reel or something similar.
I have used the 10 ft. Glowstik spinning for snagging paddle fish in the Missouri River and they work great for that application. I do not use the glow feature.
I have bought two of these rods years ago and loved it . I have caught a many a catfish 35 pounds and better with them and never had a issue . So in short buy one you will love it.
Rod is stiffer than anticipated. Has almost no action. It is very sturdy and the light activation is great. Should make a great rod for deep sea fishing on reefs and around kelp beds. Will find out this summer in San Diego.
Awesome.. See every hit. Only concern is that the handle is too thick to fit in any conventional stick in the ground rod holder ive come across
