I love my new desk but boy, that was a booger to put together. Words would be nice in the instructions boys!
I bought the Office desk and it is so awesome
The directions were basic schematics, but doable once understood. Idea: Highlight or note the assembly sequence to make sure steps are followed correctly.
Bought this for my college son and spent 4 hours putting it together only to leave it partially completed. Got to the drawer assembly and it wouldn't go all the way in. By this time, we had had it. When he goes back, he will have to look at it again and possibly call the help number. Very frustrating!
Overall, the desk is decent. Here are the issues I had with this purchase: - laminate was damaged on two panels (including the desk top) during shipping. - assembly instructions were not included (not sure if this was intentional), but luckily I found them on their website. Btw, don't bother calling them after business hours since they do not have 24x7 support. Also note the assembly instructions do not really have written instructions; it's basically limited to numbered drawings which are not easy to follow. - one of the two side panels had pre-drilled screw holes that were too large for the supplied screws; this was a manufacturing issue not a parts issue. I ran to the hardware store to pickup larger screws since it was the weekend and could not reach anyone in customer service. Attached are pictures of the left and right panels showing the difference in screw hole sizes. - the left side drawer will fit legal files, but there was nothing provided with the desk to allow the use of letter files. (Other manufacturers have a couple slots in the drawers that hold a straight bar to accommodate letter files.) Hope this helps.
We ordered this desk because it fit the intended space and decor. Five stars there. However, it took us all day to put it together and even then some areas did not fit well. We are not novices at putting together furniture as we have 3 children who furnished college rooms and apartments. These directions are not for the timid. The drawers stick and the knobs are too big (screw length) so they wobble. I am sure we will be replacing this desk before the year is out but, in the mean time, it fits the space and decor.
We got this damaged and needed it badly so didn't complain but I'm not happy.
