This seemed like a straight forward install, but it was not. I do NOT have the fold and tumble seats, but the back of the box was too high and stopped the seat adjuster lever from releasing. Found online that washers could be used as spacers and some had to bend the front mounting bracket. I started with the spacers, but then noticed that the back of the box was not touching the floor. I bent the front mounting bracket to push the back end down and was able to get it closer, but the bottom of the box seemed to be hitting the floor towards the middle and would not let the back of the box go down enough. I added the spacers and was able to make it work, but it is not the "clean" install I prefer. It still rubs a little, but functions. The front mounting bracket was not fabricated properly and/or the mounting holes were drilled and tapped in the wrong spot, because this was not a good fit for my 2004 TJ as advertised. Additionally, the tiny screws that bolt the mounting bracket to the box are a joke. I don't have as much faith in this box as I had originally hoped. Disappointed in Bestop...again.
The functionality of the box is exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately the fit into my TJ is a bit too tight. It doesn't allow my seat to adjust. I placed a few washers to raise the seat up enough to let it slide properly.
I requested a copy of the key ( 42641 Under Seat Universal Lock Box ) only to be informed by the Customer Service that Bestop does not -reproduce- keys. I have to buy a whole new box. By the way do not try to email them with your inquires they do not answer emails ( when they do they do not answer the question asked ).
