Our 2 Dr Base Bronco came with a hard top. Being close to the water and traveling to mountain areas we wanted more open space. We got the Sunshade first and added the Bestop hard top. They work well together. A friend and long time Bronco owner referred me to Bestop. We are happy with the top, it goes right over the Sun rider shade. It took some time to install and get used to. Once the fabric stretches in place it is a breeze to use and close up. We also have the Bronco cover which fits over the Bestop cover if you want to leave the side panels and or doors off and cover at night. I would recommend d this too to other Bronco owners.
i have the slant back on my jku and wanted the same quality for my Bronco. (Ford factory soft top is not near as secure and quiet) i'm so happy that i can talk on the phone while driving now! can't wait for spring to put it back!
Excellent top. Completely transformed the look of my Bronco. Love the fastback design. I receive compliments every where I go. And talk about easy to go topless!
I've had Bestops before on Jeeps replacing worn out OEM tops so I had an idea of the quality of their product. This is the first twill top I've purchased from them. First impression was that the material is 100% high quality. As good or better than tops I've had on premium German convertibles. Installation took a little longer than I expected, about 4 hours with help, but in all honesty, there are a lot of brackets and whatnot that needs to be attached. The instructions are easy to follow and illustrations make it clear. Only a few simple tools are required and, if you take your time, almost anyone can do it in their driveway. Unlike Jeep products, switching out from the soft top back to the hard top is going to be more of a process but not prohibitive. I live in the midwest so I will probably switch back to the hardtop in the Fall...probably. Once it's on, it's amazing. All the windows are tight, there is no sag and putting the top back is a breeze. I took my Bronco on a 2700-mile road trip and, on the highway, road noise is as expected. The top was solid though. There were no "flapping" or "popping" sounds at speed. I've put the top back several times this Spring. The three windows slide right out and, two clicks later, the top folds back, easy peasy. Putting the top back on can be done with one person but it is a little heavy...and awkward working above your head especially if your short or Bronco is the Sasquatch or lifted. A friend helping makes it much easier. The pricing, although a little salty, is better by several hundred dollars than the OEM top. For me, there was no question. I had the Bestop ordered before my Bronco was delivered. All-in-all, I am 100% satisfied with my Bestop Trektop and would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in adding a soft top to their rig or replacing an old top. Cheers!
I didn’t like the stock convertible top from Ford. Bestop had the better option. I’ve owned Jeeps for years so Bestop is well known to me. Works perfect. No leaks.
This 2 door aftermarket top is more difficult to raise and lower than my factory 4 door convertible tip. Too much torque to easily lift from one side. Difficult to get in position inside car to raise and lower.
Over all the Trektop looks good and works as advertise. Our only complain is the Bestop logo located on the back is much to big for our liking and it's reflective. We wouldn't mine a logo as much, if it could have been more subtle.
I like the top, it was missing bolts for assembly, ( Hardware store run). It is difficult to fold but with one person.
Love the top. Installation was a breeze. I only wish I knew about the Bestop logo on the back. Not a fan of the look. All of the pictures on the Bestop web site do not show the Logo, is that by design?
I ordered the trektop for my 22 Ford Bronco 2 door. The man who contacted me about the home installation told me that he lives in North Carolina and that we don't have an installer in our area in Virginia Beach, VA. Because there are no installers, he said he likes to do a bunch of jobs at one time. So my only request was to be done on a Tuesday. He would not accommodate that request. Not only that but he is one person, the instructions clearly state that it is a 2 person job. After the job was completed I noticed that the release levers in my bronco were damaged. I said something to the guy who just did the installation and he denied damaging it. 3 days later I put the top back and removed the windows and found scratches in my paint. I contacted Bestop and sent pictures. Their solution was to have the installer call me! After several crass comments were made to me and he damaged my new vehicle. I called Bestop back and told them I thought that was unacceptable. Why would they have the person I have a complaint about call my cell phone?! I told them I was not interested in discussing this with him. Their response was "what would you like us to do. What do you want?" They offered no solution. I can only say this. I told them I'm not trying to get something for nothing and if they can't offer any solution then the conversation is done. However, I sell cars for a living. I PROMISE I will tell every customer far and wide to steer clear. Completely incompetent.
