We just did some remodeling and wanted to find an economical paint to use. This exceeded our expectations! We used this over a coat of tinted primer and it covered as well as the more expensive brands. Being able to run to WalMart at 10:30pm to get more was just a bonus.
Wonderful paint and not a bad price. The brown color I bought covered our yellow cabinets in two coats. I used 1" and 2" trim brushes that cost $2-$3 dollars each, foam brushes, and a 4" foam roller. Buy with confidence because the paint on the cabinets was an EXACT match to the paint card in the store. In other words, what you see is what you get (this was not my experience at the big box stores' paints). Also as advertised is the fact that this paint literally had NO ODOR. I'm not kidding! Will pick Better Homes and Gardens paints again!
Purchased "Bright Sunshine" to paint our dining room/schoolroom with. One coat did the job just fine. I painted over white flat and it even covered up some crayon marks on the wall. Used a roller brush (ShurFine) and paint brush. Cleans up out of the pan with ease and out of the brush well, too. I did have to stir the paint after it had sat for awhile and each time I began my painting but I did not have to stir during the painting. I think stirring is protocol for paint, not unordinary at all. I would buy this again and plan to as I have many rooms I will be painting soon. Buy with confidence!
I was impressed with the quality of the Glidden Better Homes and Garden. It blended well. I don't believe on the marketing of one coat because I have not seen it work. Not even on the most expensive paints I have tried from the two big home improvements stores. So why pay in upwards of $30.00 per gallon when you will need two coats anyway. It dried fast and I was able to do a second coat in a couple of hours or less. It was easy to clean out from brushes and rollers as well. I have other rooms to paint and this will be the paint of choice.
I bought "Soft Sage", semi-gloss for the bathroom in my vacation home. The painting project went fine, coverage was good, and I hit a home run with the color selection. I was even able to pick up some matching/contrasting towels and rugs when I got the paint. The paint was not thin at all as some other reviewers noted. One item though was I noticed the difference between the brush application along the edges and the roller application on the center of the walls. The edges applied with the brush seemed to be a bit lighter. I attribute this to perhaps not applying enough product. I had no problems with peeling or stickiness as I read others had. Paint dried in a few hours and looked great. I did not re-install the tension shower rod yet for the reason another reviewer notes. Most paint applications, in my experience fail due soley to inadequate surface preparation. I prepped my walls by washing with a solution of Tri-Sodium-Phosphate(TSP), and rinsed, then allowed the walls to dry for a few hours. I plan to make an additional purchase of another color to use in different room. I am happy with the results. I am familiar with Glidden products and have used them in the past.
I purchased this paint to do the trim in our dining room and I loved it. Great coverage and very durable. And the materials in the store were very helpful in helping me decide what to buy. Would definitly recommend and buy again!
I recently bought some of this paint to re-do my living room. I painted over a light yellow color, and had no problems with coverage at all! Was very impressed with the quality of this product at such an affordable price! It is so convenient that it is located at Walmart and I don't have to make an extra trip to go get paint. I will be using this brand for the rest of my home renovations! Very impressed!
I used this to do my first painting project in a while for nursery furniture. After 3 coats with adequate drying in between, the suface was a sticky mess. It would stick to the plastic cover, the wall, itself, & ANYTHING it came in contact with. Now I have to spent MORE money to fix the problem.
I purchased this product in white to paint my trim in my dining room. This would have been the third coat as I had run out a brand that I had purchased at Lowes and it was more convenient to run to Walmart. I opened this paint and it was like water. The paint was runny and the coverage was thin. I returned this paint for a refund and would not recommend this product to anyone needing paint.
This paint is like brushing sticky milk on the wall. I can see through it and I am painting cream over cream. I've applied a second coat and I can still see through it, and it is extremely sticky and splatters off my brush all over the place. I figured with the Better Homes name, excellent color choice, and somewhat expensive price that this would work better, but it's horrible. I am taking it back to the store. One advantage is that my local Wal-mart will refund paint. I totally hate it and have absolutely no motivation to keep going, I've painted a fourth of one wall, top only, and I am so done.
