I needed an umbrella in our back yard to help shade from the morning and early afternoon sun. This one was perfect. Great price!!! Easy up and down. Hardly moves even in a strong wind. I put it up every morning and take it down every afternoon. The only thing I would say that I wish was better was moving it around. Kinda hard to move from one place to the next. However, if you don't plan to move it then you won't have any trouble. Once I found the perfect spot for it, I don't need to move it and it shades us nicely. Definately worth the money and highly recommend.
I bought two of these umbrellas with one year between buys. I considered them a bargain at $99 (other stores had them for over $150), but at the new price of $74 they are a steal. The offset design allows you to keep the base and the 'pole' out of the way. The second one is 2 weeks short of one year and I have had no problems with either one. I am now planning to build a platform on casters to put the umbrtella on it to make it even more versatile. Go for it, it's a lot of umbrella.
I was looking for a stand alone umbrella to accompany a newly-purchased conversation patio set when I stumbled upon this gem. The quality is great, it looks beautiful, and it's so easy to assemble. Plus, you can't beat the price! I'm the envy of all my neighbors...they've all been asking where I bought it. :) You won't be dissapointed if you purchase this product!
Love this umbrella, especially for the money - you can't go wrong. It is easy to open and close and when closed it tucks away nicely. It doesn't hang over and obstruct the view like the off-set banana arm ones do. I also like the base that can be filled with water - it is very sturdy. I have had the cast iron bases in the past, but they were not as strong and my umbrella still lifted from the wind and tipped over into my glass table. This umbrella is WELL worth the money!!
This umbrella was pretty easy to assemble, and the time it took is far outweighed by the fact that th base comes with it! My kids even complained that it was too big (they were sun-bathing). No problem--I just cranked it closed and let the sun shine. Plenty of shade when you need it, and easy to close up when you don't. Good deal for the price--and it looks nice, too...
This is a very beautiful and strong offset umbrella, which actually added the necessary final touch to my small patio. I truly believe that it would look a lot nicer in a bigger patio where you could better appreciate its beauty. I would definitely recommend it! Also, it would look nice next to a swimmig pool.
I was especially glad to get such a good rate on home shipping for this umbrella as the box is heavy and I wouldn't have wanted to pick it up. Assembly instructions were easy to read and it took me about an hour to assemble, which was much less than it took me to actually figure out exactly where I wanted to position it. Even after filling the base with water, I was able to move it around. I love the fact that I can pop off the umbrella part and lay it on the deck when strong winds are coming so I don't have to worry about it being destroyed. It may have only cost me $99, but it looks like I spent more. The only feature that it doesn't have (and I don't even know if other offset umbrellas even have this feature) is that I would love to be able to turn the umbrella part without having to move the base, but in order to position the umbrella, it is the entire base that must be moved.
I was a little concerned about the quality, with the price being so much lower than others I'd seen, but so far so good! It took hubby only about 1/2 hour to put it together. Covers a big area. The base is large, but I was expecting bigger after reading all the reviews. Our patio furniture consists of a loveseat, two chairs, and a table, so we simply put the loveseat over the base - you don't even know it's there! Word to the wise: decide exactly where you want it BEFORE filling the base with water. I wanted it moved after hubby had filled the base - it was extremely hard to move, even with two of us moving it! The winds kicked up a little and I could see the umbrella swaying slightly, but I wasn't concerned that it would fall over or anything. I did, however, go out and close it, just to be on the safe side. Will come back and update after we've had it a while...
This was easy to assemble. Be sure to notice where the handle is in relation to the base, the instructions don't quite touch this point. I had to put it together twice, but it still didn't take that long (less than 20 minutes). We had it shipped to our house, the box was completely torn up with pieces missing and still UPS delivered it. We had to send that back and reorder it. Still, I think it's going to be a great deal for the price paid. It's very compact when closed and we've had storms and the umbrella part doesn't seem to catch the wind when it's closed. Overall a good value.
I have had this product for less than a year. The top of the umbrella base has already cracked and so I can not use it. For the price it is a good deal, but don't expect a lot out of it.
