I bought this to make appetizers for a family get together and ended up being dinner for most of them. Don't overthink the cooking part. The juices stay in the pan until you lift the sliders out, pour out the liquid and repeat. They're the size of a dinner roll, Hawaiian butter rolls work great, that's the size they say they are. If you want something bigger get a "Quarter Pounder" maker. Kids love them also. A little tough to clean but is non-stck.
After seeing this on T.V. I thought that it looked like a really neat and fun way to make hamburgers. Of course I thought it might be too good to be true like so many things you see on the commercials. I bought it anyway. To my surprise it worked just as it showed on T.V. Yes the burgers are small, but sliders are supposed to be. I make up a batch of the burger balls and freeze them so then I can take out as many as I want to cook up that day. I have had no problems with clean up as some other people claim.
Hi - I have been using this product all week to make bagel sandwiches with eggs, sausage and cheese - since it is on low on the stove I can make sandwiches at the same time for lunch and know that my eggs are not going to burn - time and money saving
1. Just wish it was a little bit bigger.(the diameter of the round holes) 2. It need to be easier to clean.(non-stick)
the slider station is what it is...i found when using the measuring spoon adding alittle extra was better, the patties didn't break so easily and it of course was bigger, in a little kind of way. but note! clean-up is not as easy as a "snap". if you wash it as soon as you're done using it...sure it easy...if you like cold burgers. but if you wait 'til later, like after you've eaten and you're cleaning up...it's hard to get in those grooves to scrub and scrub. needless to say...i've used mine once.
I purchased this for my bachelor brother he says you def have to flip it it does not cook the other side and the amount of burger you have to put in is alot more than the directions say. Prob easier to patty them out yourself.
This can not be put in the dishwasher, and unlike advertised, it is not easy to clean! I thought the kids would love the mini-burger size. The measure was nice, but it is not less of a mess than frying them up! I am willing to shape them with my hands to save $20! I was just not impressed with this at all.
My son got this for me for Mother's Day and I made sliders that same night. They weren't even worth the effort and I had to make them in 3 different batches, so the first batch was more than cold by the time I was done. It's one of those products that serve ONE purpose and that's all, so it's just taking up extra kitchen space most of the time. It's not worth the money and my son was more than happy to take it back to exchange for a kitchen knife I wanted.
Bought this for my bf who loves sliders and first day we used it the spoon that comes with it to scoop equal amounts of hamburger in broke. The handle broke right off of the scoop part. We continued with the process of using it and realized even by using the scooper if you press down on the handle when using the slider machine the grease from the meat seeps up and gets all over everything and made a major mess. We were going to keep it until i used it for frying eggs like the commercial claims you can do. NO you cant. Egg stuck to it. It was impossible to clean. You have to get into all those little groves. Very agravating to clean. Returned the product not too long after getting it.
I purchased a Big City Slider, excited to make my very own "White Castles" at home. I was immediately disappointed. What we thought was going to be a small cast iron pan, turned out to be a cheap aluminum pan, easily dented and 'cracks' if gotten wet while warm. The pan is also not dishwasher safe. Next came actually using the pan. We followed the instructions explicity. Using ground turkey, with very minimal fat, we had 'flare ups' on our stove from the slider pan as it cooked the burgers. After 3 minutes, as instructions recommended, the burgers were still raw in the middle, the top not cooking either. Leaving it on a bit longer (3 additional minutes)we found the bottom of the burgers deliciously BLACK the tops, slightly brown, still red in the center. This was using 1 level provided scoop per cup as the instructions called for. I tried again, using less than a scoop this time, with the same results. Black bottoms, raw centers, and flare ups on the stove from the burgers. After the second attemoted, the pan was immediately washed. Non-stick does not tryly describe this. after soaking and scrubbing for a while, it actually came clean, was repackaged and returned to the store where they were not at all suprised to see it's return. Apparently all they sell of this item keeps coming back! Hmmm, wonder why.
