My review covers the lures used by this product, which are sold separately from the trap itself. We live in the woodsy Sierra Foothills, and this year we were plagued with yellow jackets (aka meat bees) when we ate out on our patio. The yellow Rescue traps worked OK, but I wanted something better, so I got the two-chambered kind, with a regular baited crawl-in trap in the bottom and a liquid tank-type crawl-in-and-drown trap in the top. Performance was not so good, so as an experiment I added one of the Black Flag wasp and yellow jacket lures to the water in the top tank. I couldn't believe it. In 24 hours, I had an inch of dead yellow jackets floating in the water and a bunch more trying to get into the trap. I am sold on the Black Flag wasp and yellow jacket lures.
I purchased 3 of these traps at one of my local Walmart store to try in trap and rid the vicious Yellow Jacket Hornets in my yard that kept on trying to sting my family & hummingbirds every day. I saw these advertised on a morning show that comes on in New Mexico during the week. I went crazy over seeing this trap & was trying to find out who had it or sold it because I had never heard of or seen this specific flying insect trap. I wanted to at least give it a try to see how good it really worked after hearing the lady on the show talking about this specific trap. After purchasing 3 of them & then purchasing the Black Flag Wasp & Yellow Jacket Lure for this specific trap, I had no success in trapping even one single hornet in a 3 week period of hanging these traps out in my yard in different locations. They all contained the Black Flag Wasp & Yellow Jacket Lure except for one that I decided to put 100% Pure Apple juice in because I had recently been trapping some of the Hornets with the use of a homemade Soda Bottle trap containing Apple Juice. Even in the one Black Flag Flying Insect Trap that I did put Apple Juice in knowing that the Hornets like Apple Juice, I still had no success in trapping any of the problem Hornets that are overwhelming my yard. Therefore, I would not recommend this trap to anyone for most flying insects because it is worthless, not effective for its purpose & a waste of time & money! I am returning 2 of these traps back to my local Walmart for a refund plus considering that on the front of the package it states "GUARANTEED TO WORK OR YOUR MONEY BACK". So, I am going to get my money back for 2 of them at Walmart.
