Discovered this product while working for YouTube where the office manager made them available for employees. Been a huge fan ever since. I was a Creative Writing major in college yet work in a professional environment. Have tried countless journals, note pads, etc. Never felt comfortable keeping both business notes and creative writings together in any of these options. The Black n' Red is different. Looks professional, plenty of room to write and the paper is thick and doesn't bleed. I recommend.
These black and red case bound notebooks are really very solid. Compared to what I've seen other people using (at work for example) these are an awesome value (bought 2). Now you have to be ok with the whole "black & red" brand. I did a quick search on it and found a little bit of history around the brand tracing back to a famous printer in 19th century England. Just google the brand and wiki. So if any wise guy asks about the name, just spout off, and say how popular they are at Oxford. Then say, "hey, heard about Charlie?", then slug'em right in the top of the shoulder where it hurts, and continue writing in your super-cool black and red notebook... chop-chop-bang-ban-n-n-ng!
I've used this style of journal for a number of years and enjoy the Black 'n Red value. They are well constructed and durable. I use each book for a number of months and frequently stuff reference papers in the pages. They hold up well.
These were a gift to a relative, so i will not personally use them. However, after much searching and comparing, these came out on top as the best vaue. So, i will probably be buying more in the future, as he fills these.
I write notes constantly in my job and I keep my notebooks for a long time. I was looking for something more sturdy that would hold up in the shop environment, and this fits the bill perfectly.
I have been using Black n' Red notebooks for over 20 years. They are perfect for business meetings and or as a daily journal.
I use these as my workbooks, they work very well - get thru' 3 a year - these were ordered & delivered to my home cheaper than they can be bought from an Office Superstore - without having to go there!
I was very happy to find a hard cover, thread bound notebook with a quality lined paper suitable for writing with a fountain pen. This is a well made notebook with a professional look and easily removable label on the front. I have yet to find a product of this quality for the same price. The only suggestion to make this book more durable would be to add a thicker vinyl wrap around the cover, as the cardboard inside the cover may get exposed when subjected to rough conditions. But again, that would mean different price point. Thank you for making these great notebooks available in the US!
I use the notebook daily to support my engineering activities. I create an entry for each meeting in which I participate. Random technical discussions are entered as well as notes that I generate from other sources. The quality of the cover, binding and paper is great. The appearance of the cover tends to show wear after short use giving the notebook an aged appearance that is jot unattractive. The overall appearance is utilitarian and is appropriate in most settings. I would not use this notebook for meetings with people in senior leadership positions. This version of the product has about 90 pages. I prefer the 192 page version that has the part number: D66174U.
I bought this book on a recomendation. I have been using it a little over a month and the cover is already flalling apart. the book is wearing at the corners and edges exposing the cardboard cover underneathe that is just peeling apart. Also I do not like the fact that you cannot remove the labels from the cover making its appearence cheap. Would be much better and profesional looking if it did not sport a barcode and lable gibberish permenatly.
