The price is about what you pay for 2 batteries other stores, it is like getting the drill for free.

After shopping at Lowes and Home Depot and finding nothing but excellent contractor grade cordless drills I bought this one. I just needed something to drill a few holes now and to use to screw in fasteners on projects around the house at a reasonable price. Most good contractor drills go for $200-$300. I did not need something to drill through cement or 4x4s. This product might do it but I do not believe it is made for that. It is comfortable although heavy. It has a variety of speeds that cover just about everything I can think of. The case is well made but not adequate to hold the collection of bits I usually keep with the drill. There are no pouches within the case for the battery packs or charger.

Best buy in a tool I have made this year, Just keeps going & going, Have yet to have to use the second battery on a job. You can get batteries at Walmart or Black & Decker & black & Decker services these products too.

The older version of this had more power. I had to replace this since all my betteries are the 18 v. And since dewalt was 283.00 . it was a good price.

Plenty of torque to get the job done. Got it just this past week and used it on a project this morning. Got to say it impressed me. Battery life seems good. Had to drill 4 holes in cement and it didn't seem to phase it for the rest of the project. Haven't even charged the second battery yet. Now it's definitely not a dewalt but for the average do it yourselfer I'd say it's all you need. Great price for what you get.

This was for a replacement to my former drill, which batteries had lost power. The price was excellent for an 18v drill. I have used it several times, and it has plenty of power for a job. The compact size is a plus as well. There are some drawbacks, which can easily be overlooked based on price vs value. First, the variable speed chuck only has 5 settings plus 'wood' setting, which is backward if you're used to 15 like the one I had before. I tested it, and even on 5 the clutch slipped in hard surfaces, so I've left it on the top setting ('wood'). Second, the charger only has an 'on' light, so it's uncertain exactly when the full charge is done. Though that isn't a big deal, it would be nice if it had a full charge indicator light. I suppose those are features that would come with higher-priced drills, so .all in all, a good bargain

Other than short battery charge life, a chuck that is weak on bit hold and very very difficult to operate, it's a nice drill. I have an old Work Force that I paid 20 bucks for that works better. I had a project that required some concret drilling. I had to use the old WF to finish the job. This is my last Black and Decker product!
