And this was no surprised as I had bought two of the same batteries 18 months ago (which are still in good service condition); and bought to more to replace two older ones that are not longer holding the charge. These batteries are excellent.
After charging it registered over 21 volts. I wish they weren't as expensive as they are but Walmart has the best price. I was going to rebuild my old one myself but after doing all the work ordering the sub-c batteries, soldering etc, it would have cost me only a few dollars less than Walmart's price. It was not cost effective. Like I said, Walmart has the best price otherwise I would have rebuilt the battery myself.
I have several other portable drills and when I priced the available batteries, this was the best deal all around. I had previously bought another one and decided I needed a spare for when I ran that one down. Porter-Cable is a good drill but not good enough to pay twice as much for batteries so Black & Decker won my vote!!!
Needed a second one for my B&D weedeater/trimmer. That gives me plenty of run time to take care of my whole yard without having to do part and then recharge and do the other half the next day. These batteries are very good and the price was as good as any other retailer. Stores usually only have the two pack and I only needed one to go with the one that came with the trimmer. I ordered online and it arrived at the store in 2 days, not the 4 originally projected, so I was pleasantly surprised.
Ordered these as replacements for yard tools just a year old. I have similar batteries for drills, etc., that have lasted several years. These are the first of any brand I've had to replace so soon. Waiting to see how long the replacements last.
After a few uses, the battery no longer holds a charge. I get maybe 5 minutes of use with each charge. I purchased the B&D product because it could be used cordlessly. Not only is it cordless but now is also powerless. The replacement batteries cost almost as much as the weed trimmer it came with!
The batteries died after a month called black and decker sent them reciept, I was refunded my money.
This products Battery has the WORST Charge Time as well as the WORST Lasting (Hourly) expectancy. I have to KEEP the charger on the battery, in order for it to be charged whenever I go out to do my yard. Had I known that this was the case, I would have NEVER purchased this product. I purchased this because I wanted convenience and ease when I go out to do yard work. It would be a very MUCH improvement if, you change this battery to a LITHIUM battery!! Customers would be very pleased. I would. I'm considering going to a corded product.
Don't even think about spending $35 on this battery. You can get two of them with a brand new drill for about $65. This is a disposable drill. Never waste your money on these batteries; they don't last. These batteries are like razor blades because you get the tool cheap and have to constantly replace the battery. Save money and buy another brand than Black and Decker.
I can't understand this famous company like black&decker. I bought a grass cutter with these batteries. But even I charged more than 10 hours every times, it last 2 minutes with strong force, then 5 minutes with useless power. I can't understand how did this famous company sell this kind of product? I can't trust this brand name of black&decker anymore.
