This trimmer was not as easy to put together as I thought it would be. The instructions weren't as clear as they could have been. That being said, this is a great string trimmer. This trimmer has two different speed controls that either gives you more runtime or more power as you need. The handle easily adjusts so that you can change the height, making it easier and more comfortable to use. It uses the 0.80 size line which is a bigger line. What makes this trimmer different from the others is that you feed the line with a button instead of bumping or hitting the trimmer on the ground. Another great feature to this trimmer is that you can flip it from a trimmer to an edger and back! How cool is that! I have had a gas trimmer and electric trimmer but not a cordless one. The other cordless trimmers that I have looked at have not had a good battery. They tend to run out of charge quickly or don't have the power to do the work that I want done. This trimmer has a 60V battery. More run time and more power. While it is a little heavier than an electric trimmer it is by far lighter than a gas one. It is noisier than an electric but not as loud as a gas. You can take it just about anywhere like the gas whereas you are limited with the electric. You don't have to deal with the electric cord or filling the gas tank but you do have to charge it. So I guess it just depends what appeals to you more: weight, noise or mobility.
All of my lawn tools are battery powered, for me, no oil, gas or mess is the only way to go and easier on the environment. The trimmers had to be put together, but only 3 parts, plus slide the shaft together and tighten it, didn't take too long at all. This trimmer is much bigger than the B&D battery powered trimmer I already have. The battery was on the charger for two hours to fully charge the first time. The first thing I see is it's very powerful. I always use the trimmer on my rock walkway, the fence around the whole property and around trees and flowerbeds. It's a good bit of area. For me, one charge did the whole job were with my old trimmer I always have to have two batteries. There are two speed/power settings .1 is fine for most trimming and lighter stuff - dandelions, grass, etc. If you're trimming heavier stuff - milkweed, woody weeds and so on, you can use speed "2" setting. On "2" this thing will cut weeds over 3/4" thick and even thin branches. I would guess on the higher speed the battery would run out faster. The line fed on its own when it starts up without pushing the button that feeds out the new line. I only found one thing that I don't really like and that is with the 2 button push start system. The buttons are too far apart for my finger to push them at the same time comfortably. If you only use a line trimmer occasionally or have a smaller property, this is a really handy tool. No cords to worry about and no maintenance like gas-powered ones need.
This Black & Decker Easyfeed Cordless String Trimmer couldn't have come at a better time with the summer just starting and my old trimmer giving up last year. First I would like to say how easy this was to assemble. It is basically only 3 pieces which go together, the head, bottom pole and the upper pole. The battery fits into place easily and securely. This unit comes with a 60V battery and the charger and with this being 60V I was able to trim all the places in the yard I needed to as well as do the edging that was needed. This has 2 speeds which allows a longer run time when you put it in the "slower" setting but I didn't find that it was any less powerful on the lower setting vs the higher setting. It has up to a 13" cutting path which makes for quick work and also has "Easyfeed" for the line. With "Easyfeed" it's as simple as pushing a button to let out more line, no more bumping! It also switches from trimming mode to edging mode very easily and gives you a perfect edge when you use the edge guard that is on the head. Black & Decker does recommend that you use their replacement factory wound spools of line but you can replace the line from bulk if you would like. You can also adjust the height/length of the trimmer pole which makes it nice if you have more than one person that will be using it. It does have some weight to it but for the size of this trimmer it really is light and easy to handle. It does do best when you use it in a "back and forth" swinging motion and not in a straight walking path but if you are using it for trimming the "back and forth" motion is the best for good results. I have only owned this trimmer for a little over a week now and have had no problems with it to date and don't expect any in the near future. I would recommend this Black & Decker to anyone that has a mid size yard as it will be able to handle any trimming needs you may have!
This is a great addition to our yard care equipment. This string trimmer/edger is so much easier to use than the electric or gas ones. This edger is cordless and has a 60 volt battery. The battery only took about one hour to charge, Straight out of the box. It has a dual 2 mm line that is easily fed by a push of the button. The trimmer converts really easily to an edger also. There are so many features that make this tool really simple to use. We ran it for about 30 minutes continuously and it never lost any power. Haven't really run it down yet. It is so easy to put it away with its charger, and have it ready for the next use. One more thing that is nice, is that it is not too heavy. The trimmer covers about a 12 to 13” path also. The only thing we could find wrong with this product is the location of the start and pause buttons. A bit difficult to get to when holding the trimmer.
Yes, I am a Spark Reviewer program reviewer and the Black and Decker 60V MAX Easyfeed Cordless String Trimmer was easy to setup and use. I would have to highly recommend this workhorse. No cords, no gas to worry about ...yeah!! Can I say no maintenance worries? I live in the city and my yard space is very limited. I have only used it the first day after receiving it for almost 4 hours with breaks in between. Before I got started the product manual suggested to first charge the battery fully before first use. It does come with a fast charger which can also charge the 20V batteries as well. There are two-speed settings “1 and 2”. 1 is fine for most trimming and lighter stuff - dandelions, grass, etc. The “2” setting or high speed is best for trimming heavier stuff like big weeds and so on. On "2" this thing will cut weeds over 3/4" thick and even thin branches. The downside on the “2” setting is the battery depletes very rapidly in a few minutes. On the “1” setting or low speed cutting grass and thin weeds, it lasts about 35 minutes. The 60V Max Easyfeed Cordless String Trimmer well balanced and easy to use. The auto feed feature on the trim line works nicely, it does feed out about 1/2" every time the trimmer spins up. The head rotates for use as an edger, but you'll only be able to edge about 20 minutes or so before the battery dies. The “2” speed setting is best for to edge as the “1” speed won't cut through dirt or those thick areas of growth that are found near the landscaping border beside the driveway or walkway.
I am a 65 year old female, 5'7" and put this together with no problem. I put the battery in the charger and waited until it was fully charged which was less than an hour. Note, instructions tell you to plug charging unit in wall first, then place battery in the charger. I then went outside to see how it worked. My yard had already been cut and trimmed so I went around the cement areas where weeds were growing out and used the trimmer for that purpose and it did fine. I only used the trimmer on speed One for that was all I needed. I am so glad that the line does not keep coming out when stopping and starting like some reviewers stated on another site, because I have a habit of doing this. I have fruit/vegetable plants planted in all areas of my yard and use this to keep the weeds and grass around them trimmed down. If it feels heavy while in use, make sure the middle handle ("auxiliary handle") is close to the middle of the pole so that the trimmer balances when held by that handle. It's perfectly balanced if you put the middle handle far enough toward the middle. This is powerful for a battery trimmer. The string feed button works well. The only loud noise is from the string hitting the weeds, or the newly fed string hitting the guard before it gets automatically cut. It runs quietly otherwise. As for battery life. I have used this again trimming around the concrete driveway, sidewalk, chain wall, brick walkway, etc and have yet to drain the battery. In fact, when I checked the light it was still showing 3 lights which means anywhere from 72%-100% charged and I had used it for almost a half hour. When placing back on the charger after finishing, it took less than 30 minutes to recharge. Love it so far.
I am reviewing this product as a Walmart Spark program Reviewer. I've tried other trimmers and I like this one better then the rest. I have a gas trimmer and don't use it anymore as this works better. You don't have to pull start it as you just press a button and it starts right up. I love that it's lightweight. It's got an auto feed feature so you don't have to slam it on the ground to feed the string, which is very durable. The two speed feature is nice. The higher speed works great on taller, thicker grass. The head flips to use as an edger and I have no complaints with that. The flower protected is a nice feature. The rechargeable battery works well on our half acre lawn and would probably last longer on an even bigger lawn. I like that the battery comes off to charge. I would definitely recommend this trimmer to anyone looking for a lightweight, easy to use trimmer. It was easy to put together within minutes.
THIS IS MY REVIEW FOR THE BLACK AND DECKER 13 INCH, 60-VOLT MAX LITHIUM-ION CORDLESS 2 IN ONE GRASS TRIMMER/LAWN EDGER. THE BATTERY AND CHARGER WERE INCLUDED. THE LINE IS .80. THE EASY FEED LETS YOU QUICKLY FEED TRIMMER LINE WITH A PUSH OF A BUTTON. IT HAS A TWO- SPEED CONTROL FOR MORE POWER IF NEEDED FOR THICKER OR HIGHER WEEDS. IF YOU USE THE LOWER POWER YOU WILL GET MORE RUN TIME PER CHARGE. THE HANDLE EASILY ADJUSTS TO ANY POSITION ON THE TRIMMER. YOU FLIP A LEVER TO EASILY SLIDE THE HANDLE UP OR DOWN THE SHAFT AND THEN LOCK INTO PLACE. IT IS A LITTLE AWKWARD TO USE AS THE LENGTH OF THE TRIMMER DOES NOT ADJUST. IT IS FAIRLY LIGHT WEIGHT BUT MADE TO LAST. THE BATTERY CAN BE USED FOR OTHER BLACK AND DECKER TOOLS SUCH AS A BLOWER OR HEDGE TRIMMER. THE 13' CUTTING AREA MAKES EASY WORK OUT OF TRIMMING WEEDS OR HIGHER GROWTH AREAS WHERE A MOWER CAN NOT BE USED. IT HAS A SWITCH TO PREVENT UNINTENTIONAL STARTING. MAKE SURE IT IS IN THE OFF POSITION WHEN CONNECTING THE BATTERY. STORE THE BATTERY FULLY CHARGED IN A COOL LOCATION AND NOT IN THE CHARGER ITSELF. THE CHARGER WILL SHOW A FULLY CHARGED BATTERY BY A CONTINUOUS LIGHT BEING ON, NOT BLINKING. DO NOT FULLY DISCHARGE THE BATTERY. THE CHARGER HAS AN INDICATOR ON IT THAT LET'S YOU KNOW IF THE BATTERY IS CHARGING, FULLY CHARGED, BATTERY TO HOT OR OR COLD TO CHARGE, OR A BAD BATTERY.. SO FAR, SO GOOD. EASY TO FEED LINE, EASY TO CHARGE AND THE 2 SPEED POWER WORKS GREAT FOR HIGH WEED AREAS.
The BLACK+DECKER LST560C 60V MAX* Easyfeed Cordless String Trimmer is an upgrade from the 40V. First off the instructions on how to assemble the trimmer were not very clear. The pictures in the phamphlet did not correspond with certain aspects of the trimmer. Since I had already put one together before, it was a bit easier . I can imagine the frustration for someone who is new to the trimmer world. The trimmer has 2 speed controls which can prolong the battery life in the lower setting. The easy feed line is a much appreciated feature. With a touch of a button you can feed the line. Being able to adjust the height makes it easier to use for different sized people. The trimmer has a dual line which means that two lines together actually work to cut faster and easier. The downside of this is replacing this type of line is a bit harder then the single line version. This model is noticeably heavier than the 40V. It is not just the battery size but the actual trimmer that is heavier. A smaller individual would need to concentrate to hold the trimmer while in motion. A neat feature is the ability to switch from an edger to a trimmer and back without much effort. At full charge the trimmer was still going strong after about 30 minutes. Cordless is a plus for those that trim pastures and gardens away from electrical outlets. It is also great for people who have a hard time pull starting a gas trimmer. I would give this model a 5 star rating except for the weight of the trimmer and the dual trim line. Great product. Definitely a heavy duty trimmer.
I got it all put together started testing it and string instantly wrapped around the base of the head spoil and got stuck between the head and base started smoking burning. I unwrapped the string and pulled it out cut off the excess that got wrapped around and stuck and figured I would try again same exact thing happened. Never was able to even try on the grass as it couldn't just spin without string wrapping around head getting stuck
