I bought the twister jar about a month ago and have used it to make hummus twice. It does a great job and the results are so much smoother than when using a traditional food processor. The Blendtec motor is very powerful and as you use the twister jar and twist it, you can feel the power. Almost too powerful for the little jar when using the salsa/dips preset button. But I think after a few more uses I'll get more comfortable with it. I also like the size as it is easy to remove your finished product (as opposed to the standard jar which can be oversized when trying to make small portions). I look forward to trying more recipes with the Twister Jar in order to justify its hefty price tag.
Lets get the negatives out of the way... I haven't been successful in making ice cream, even when I follow the recipes provided but its not a big deal to me because it works great for all the things I actually bought it for. I had a hard time with thick things in the regular Blendtec blenders, but the twister jar can whip through all those troubles with ease. I have made super thick hummus, awesome guacamole, almond butter, sesame tahini, and baby food. Its my go to blender for the things I make and I love it!
I loved crushed ice so the first thing I did with this blender was fill it with ice and hit the crush button. To my amazement, the ice turned to powdery snow!! Everything from soups to smoothies - it always makes everything perfectly!, Love this machine!!!!
I have used this jar multiple times every day since I took it out of the box! I've made the Berry Soft Serve recipe from the recipe booklet every day. I've make Raw Ranch Dressing, Macadamia Cream, Raw Russian Salad Dressing, just to name a few. Our whole family is just in love with this new jar. The spatula is an engineering triumph and it actually gets out every last bit of our expensive organic nut recipes with ease. We are impressed with the removable lid centers and recipe booklet too. All the pieces of this package are well thought out and well worth the price. Bravo, Blendtec, you've put together something worthy of your amazing blender. No cheaping-out on anything. We are customers since 2006.
I bought this size for my blendtec so I could make single serving smoothies for myself each day. It is the perfect size! And after I make it I just pop the top and stick in a straw and I don't have to worry about spillage or waste!
I am so happy I got this! The mini that came with my blender is ok for small jobs. But the reg size is better because it also has a reg gripper lid so you can make single serve drinks. I also like to make almond butter. So far I'm thrilled with the versatility of this and clean up is a snap.
Haven't used it to make nut butters. But I've used it for single serve smoothies, salad dressing and marinades. If you're thinking of getting the mini jar, just spring for this one instead. Then you can use it for small stuff or nut butters without having to break out the big jar. The rubber scraper that comes with it is great for getting the last drop.

I am So glad I bought the Twister Jar! It is a great size for milkshakes, smoothies and vegan cheese, to name a few uses! Another feature I love is the special spatula to get all the good stuff out easily! Cleaning is a snap! Just a few drops of detergent, a whir, rinse...all clean! I use all of my jars and love them!
I appreciate the size and multifaceted functionality of the twister jar. I am however, disappointed with the fact that it stained the second time I used it. For the jar to stain indicates a level of porosity that is of concern. No matter what I have tried the stain does not come out (even after 20 additional uses with food item not containing any yellow). All foods have also been organic so no chemicals or artificial ingredients.
