Toddlers and preschoolers dread bedtime and will do almost anything to avoid falling asleep. Blue and Steve make getting ready for bed a fun and gentle process, concentrating on the slow change of evening into night. The energy level is very low as Steve whispers the songs and yawns throughout the program. The second half of the video focuses on dreams, and since this can be a scary topic for youngsters, it is best shown in the daytime. Steve, Blue, Mailbox, and the other characters share their dreams with each other, and the video includes a small segment on controlling nightmares. Blue's Big Pajama Party is a great addition to a child's video library. Highly recommended for ages three to five.
