Works very well on all speeds, looks good with other stainless appliances, needs to have a dim setting on light rather than just on high and off.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love how quiet the fan is and the power is amazing. The overall finish of the surface is also beautiful. I love it overall. However, the 2 lights are very hot and it burned my hand when i tried to turn the switch.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We completely renovated our kitchen in November/December and chose a BOSCH Undercabinet Hood. The first hood was delivered damaged (the fan mount was cracked); however, BOSCH quickly replaced the damaged hood with a complete replacement and we love it!!
Powerful enough but it does gets some of the air back in the room as previous reviewer noted. My biggest disappointment is that there is no setting for lights. It is either on or off. An also design of the knob controls is something like 1975 era. Placement of the knobs is poor as well, underneath so that the knobs can nicely get oily and sticky. Why did then I buy this? Well just go and check others then you will know why.
This is a pretty strong range hood, sucks air away well, but because it is convertible to circulating type (instead of venting outdoors, like mine is set up to do), there is some leakage of air out the top. It's also quite loud at the higher speeds, but it does a pretty good job. Looks good and I like the low profile
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We like the look and function of this Undercabinet Hood. The fan has several settings which product a lot of suction. The lighting setup works well. The only problem we have had is that one of the two light bulbs randomly dislodged and smashed onto the stove and into our food while cooking. Nobody was actively touching the bulb when this happened. When contacted, Bosch stated that a tech needed to come check out the situation but there are no techs in our area of NW Washington State. Bosch offered no solution and told us we just simply needed to buy another bulb. Clearly this does not solve the problem and a new bulb will likely fall out and break as well since the problem has not been addressed.
I am disappointed about this machine because: 1. Cannot find the FD No. anywhere to registration of this product 2. Cannot find the vent lever which control to vent outside or to re-circulate air back into the kitchen. There is none. The air comes out both on top of the machine and outside duct. This should be a fundmetal feature of this machine. 3. After two wash in my dishwasher, the filter discoloured and looks ugly. (see pictures)
I purchased this under cabinet ventilation fan to go with a Bosch duel fuel range a month ago. It was just delivered and installed today. After installers left, I prepared dinner and noticed that there was little air flow. When I removed the filters, one fan appeared to be working - and the other one was not working, but it was warm to the touch. What a disappointment. I purchased a Bosch because of Consumer Reports recommendations, and the range hood doesn't work properly.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've installed ceiling fans, light fixtures, and over the range microwaves. I could not hang this hood. We tried to mount directly to the undercabinet with four very small screws. These have to be precisely placed where the keyholes are in the hood. Screwing them in requires you to partly screw in the screws, wedge the hood into place, find out you've mismeasured where the screws go and repeat. Once the hood is in place, you'll have to try to tighten them by sticking a screwdriver though the unit to access. There is no template (why?!). I had to add multiple layers of shims as well because our cabinet is recessed and a flat surface is required.
This was the 8th Bosch appliance I have purchased. I have been happy with all of them. However this range hood is very poorly designed. It has a ducted and a non-ducted option. I have a duct and do not wish to recirculate the smoke and cooking smells back into my house. However, even though the hood has been set to vent out (I even had the technician come out a second time to check), some of the air still comes through the top and recirculates back into my home. This seems to be a very bad design flaw. When the hood is set to vent outside, the top should close completely so that none of the air is recirculated back into the home. To me this seems pretty logical. Why would I want the smoke to go back into the house? It's not a ton of air that is coming back and Bosch customer service has told me that this is just back flow and is inevitable. They told me that some air coming back into the house is normal. This is unacceptable to me especially given the price of Bosch appliances and their reputation.
