Very easy to set up, outstanding sound, replaced my EV ZLX12P powered speaker. 1/4 the size, cordless, with, to my ear, equal sound. I also purchased the S1 Powered sub (see bottom unit in pic) to add depth, though it isn't necessarily needed, the S1 Pro sufficient for most. I haven't had it long enough to comment on battery life

I just want to ask. upon watching the video and at the end of the video of this product says that it is supported of bose connect apps. But when i tried to bond it it is not yet compatible to pair. We tried to update it but still it still not yet compatible. Kindly send feedback regarding to this matter.
Just bought it today ! crazy how it sounds good , i was waiting for this for a long time , its portable and versatile , this is a nice addition to my l1 model 2 as a monitor. im very happy with the speaker performance. Bluetooth work well. Comes with a nice cover. I have buy the battery to i think this is a must have.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were comparing this Bose speaker to other speakers for a poolside speaker. Here is what I noticed compared to other systems: Although this is a Portable PA system, what sets it apart from other speakers of the same class is the high quality of sound even at high volumes. We tried other boombox style speakers and we were so much more impressed with the Bose S1. Having the ability to use AC power, or it's own battery power is a big plus. It makes the uses of the setup so versatile. A friend brought over their guitar, and they were blown away by the quality of sound from the custom controls on the side of the speaker. This really is a multi-use setup that has been well crafted. Shifting the speaker onto its side also allows for the speaker to switch speaker projection internally which makes the sounds correct whether vertical or horizontal laying positions. We found that the battery life was closer to 7-8 hours on HIGH volume and 12 hours on low volumes in our tests. This is perfect for pool parties in the backyard, BBQs, and other events. This is an amazing speaker that costs less than a dedicated outdoor speaker setup, but has better sound quality and is portable which is so handy. We are big fans of the S1. Purchasing it for such uses as described above will not disappoint you. The Bluetooth range is also quite good. We even had the phone accidentally left in a pocket walk away into the house a few times without losing signal. Very impressive, Bose!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this a couple of months ago and now my mixer and QSCs are collecting dust. Excellent sound for Happy hr Patio or small bar restaurant type gigs. Love the battery life as well. Why plug in when you don't have to, its just one less cord to run right. I use this with a Acoustic duo for Patio gigs every week and could not be happier with the performance. My percussionist got so jealous of my setup times he just bought one too.
I purchased this from Sweetwater and it arrived at 10:30am. I was at my afternoon gig at a winery no problem 3 hrs playing flamenco guitar. This is a keeper. I think I will get another one soon too. I have another guitarist and when I get the battery pack we're going to do some busking in NYC. Take the time to learn the eq to dial in your tone. The streaming bluetooth never gave out so that was very pleasant. I see using this Evey week for my lounge and cocktail hr gigs. I look forward to the backpack for the S1.
very good sounds and operation
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having been first exposed to Bose's unique new 901 system in 1970 at Myer-EMCO in Washington DC, and having thrived with the 800 & 802 systems during much of my music career, I was prepared to be unsurprised by the S1, which arrived just in time for use at an outdoor event. The S1 was indeed unsurprising - impressively so. On a 5-foot stand, the speaker projected clearly, broadly - and somewhat magically - in all areas from the "stage" (a stepstool) to the bus stop, through the throng of people and amidst traffic noise near the busiest corner in Los Angeles. We ran an old workhorse Shure PE50 mic plus an amplified acoustic guitar, with remarkable coverage. My one untested concern is that the mic volume was fully cranked - had we needed more mic volume, we wouldn't have had it. Again, ambient noise conditions were far under par, and I need to test other mics with the unit. Still, the S1 proved itself, design- and clarity-wise. Once I get the mic situation nailed down, I'll decide whether to add a second S1 for similar events. Really looking forward to using it for just music, too! Almost forgot: 1) The cover really ought to be included, as it's a necessary component for a portable system. 2) The battery sailed through the multi-hour event, and appears to be holding its charge just fine after an extended sleep period. I'm pretty happy with the S1, and a musician at the event liked it so much that he's getting one for himself.
