I was excited to see this come up on Spark Reviewer. My mom has had a heavy duty stapler for a few years now and it was nice, but this one is far better. Her stapler claimed 120 sheets, but it struggled at about 80 sheets. When this showed up in the mail I took it out and testing began. It handled the 135 sheets with no problem. We are in the middle of a move and I decided to try it out on the cardboard boxes. Two layers, easy as pie, four layers, no problem, six layers, and clean as butter. I stopped there, because who is going to staple 8 layers together, not me. I am very pleased with this stapler. You can adjust the stop on it to go in to half a page, so if you are going to make a pamphlet or booklet. This will handle the tough jobs you have if you are just a tinker or if you are using it for crafting. I did get a box of staples for it and they are heavy duty. Loading it was a bit of a learning process. It loads from the back, but when it came, the end that locks in was upside down so it would not lock in. Took a good look and flipped it around and it locked in and worked like a champ.
I have a home office which has been used for 20 years including 12 years of homeschooling. I have purchased numerous staplers that claimed to be heavy duty and would staple nearly everything but frequently I encountered issues from limited thickness, product type, and easily damaged parts. This particular product appears to be durable while containing much power. Very large files - such as my end of year tax receipts - are easily stapled with very little effort on my part. The gauge with limiting block is very helpful for those of us who need staples down the length like a booklet - each staple is in line with the previous. I have used this stapler with my grandsons to create a book of their drawings and pictures as a creative art activity. My full drawers of tax receipts were easily emptied with quick attachment and file. This is an excellent office accessory. A great gift for those who are crafty and perfect for those of us who have home offices. As a person of middle age, I find this stapler to be easy to use for all ages including my two 5-year-old grandsons and older individuals due to the small amount of effort required for thick multi-product stapling. Plastic, paper, and cardboard are easily attached with limited effort.
This Bostitch stapler really is heavy duty. The look and feel is more like a machine than a mere stapler. I had to read the instruction pamphlet to figure out how to open & load the Staples- it's a push\slide motion to get the stopper out to load them. I had a 72 page booklet I needed to staple together. The first two attempts went badly- with the staples getting stuck (which was frustrating since it's supposed to be a jam free stapler). Each of the two staples I had to work out of the stapler, they were pretty mangled. The third staple attempt was like butter! Barely any force was needed to push the handle down (and I have arthritis!) & smoothly staple the pages. The next two staples went in just as easy,. Since the first two staple jams, I haven't had a problem at all!
I am impressed with the Bostitch Heavy-Duty Stapler. Staples are easily inserted from the back. This is a sturdy stapler and I tested it on a magazine because the box said it could secure up to 130 pages. Although my magazine was only 76 pages, the staple went through the pages with an expected amount of pressure to the handle. The ends of the staples bent securly and finished nicely. This stapler immediately caught my husband's attention and he has already picked up one to take to work. If you are looking to staple together large documents, I would recommend you try this product.
Before the Bostitch Heavy-Duty Stapler, I used to staple both sides of a thick document using a standard stapler and then pound the staples in. It was frustrating but it is also the only way I know using a standard stapler to staple thick documents. I do not want to use a binder clip because all the papers are still loose. If you lose the clip, your papers or documents will be all over the place. I like all the papers stapled so I know they are all secured. When the Bostitch Heavy-Duty Stapler arrived, it was a great sigh of relief. The Bostitch Heavy-Duty Stapler can handle all the stapling I need. This heavy-duty stapler uses 4 different staple sizes – from 1/4” to 5/8” thickness. So there is really no need to worry about stapling thin or thicker papers. You can always pick the right staple size for any kind of stapling job. The illustration guide on the Bostitch Heavy-Duty Stapler will make sure you are using the right staple. The Bostitch Heavy-Duty Stapler can staple up to 130 pages using the 5/8” heavy gauge staples. I believe I have used the Bostitch Heavy-Duty Stapler to staple more than what is required. I have used the Bostitch Heavy-Duty Stapler to staple cardboard, plastic sheets, and copper sheets and so far, this heavy-duty stapler performed very well. The Bostitch staples are made from heavier material so staples can easily penetrate the thicker paper or material. Please do not get fooled by other heavy-duty staple brands. Bostitch Staples are guaranteed to work best with your Bostitch Heavy-Duty Stapler. I highly recommend using Bostitch's staples. The Bostitch Heavy-Duty Stapler is made from all metal material. I'm used to seeing staplers made from plastic but the Bostitch is really made for tough stapling jobs. I can see how the Bostitch Heavy-Duty Stapler will last for a long time. I like the handle on the Bostitch Heavy-Duty Stapler because it is ergonomic and safe. There were heavy-duty staplers at work and those tend to hurt your hand or wrist because of the force you have to use to staple thick documents. With the Bostitch Heavy-Duty Stapler and its ergonomic design, it is so easy to hold and staple thicker documents together. There is really less to no effort in stapling thicker pieces of paper or material together. Overall, I like the Bostitch Heavy-Duty Stapler because it performed very well with all the jobs I used it for. I really like the design and the look of this heavy-duty stapler. The Bostitch Heavy-Duty Stapler is definitely made to last. So far, this is the best overall stapler I have used – frustration free, jam free, and easy to load. If you are looking for a stapler for general or special use, the Bostitch Heavy-Duty Stapler is all you need. I highly recommend the Bostitch Heavy-Duty Stapler to all.
The Bostitch Heavy Duty Stapler is just that! It's all metal, strong and durable. There is a red paper stop that slides and locks in place so you can staple all of your booklets in exactly the same place. It's 2-3/4" deep at it's fullest length for stapling. The staples are much thicker than regular staples and they staple down with the ends turning and coming back up again so you almost get a double staple. The handle has a comfort grip so it's easy to use. I just pushed down with the heel of my hand on top and had no trouble at all going through 60 sheets of paper and some cardboard. It's made to staple 130 sheets. It's so much easier to use than my regular stapler - no hurt hand! And it is engineered so that you won't have those twisted staples that don't go through to pull out because the staples are chisel pointed! It also has an anti-jamming mechanism but there are instructions on how to clear it just in case. I had no problem. There are rubber grips on the bottom so it stays in place. The stapler weighs 2-1/2 pounds and is 11.9"x3.6"x4.6". It uses a 1/4" staple (25 pages), 3/8" staple (25-55 pages), 1/2" staple (55-85 pages) and 5/8" staple (85-130 pages). The company is in Rhode Island and there is a toll free number. One thing to remember: the staples are not easy to remove. This is the perfect stapler for all big jobs!
I have needed one of these for years. I do an event each year and the convention hotel likes to give me hard copies of the Banquet Event Order. I usually use a large binder clip to hold it all together. This is useful when editing and reviewing but after the event is over I would like to staple it. The binder clip can pop off in the filing cabinet when I am pulling another document out and I would hate to have this 80 page document fall apart. This stapler went through all 80 pages like it was nothing. I will take it to the event this year and use it for other documents and will go through my filing cabinet and replace many binder clips. It didn't require too much pressure and was very easy to load. Photo 1 is with the binder clip and photo 2 is stapled. The staples are very thick.
In my experience, normal staplers seem like they can lose their effectiveness at anything more than about a dozen pages. Because I'm frequently stapling large documents together. I really needed a better, stronger solution. This heavy duty stapler is working really good for me. The stapler is large -- almost a foot long -- and can staple nearly 3-inches inside a document (great for "saddle-stitched" pamphlets and booklets). It is VERY sturdy, and is mostly made of steel, so it really gives you a lot of leverage, if you need it. I've noticed that stapling even 100+ pages is smooth and easy to do. The stapler allows for varying sizes of staples, with a guide printed on the stapler itself noting that you can use 1/4" for up to 25 pages, 3/8" for 55 pages, 1/2" for 85 pages, and 5/8" for up to 130 pages. Even when my staples are longer than I need, they just curl inward so it's all good, regardless. I have never had it jam but there is a simple way to clear them if they ever did ("staple" with a pencil or pen underneath and the unused staple will fall out). There is a red paper stop that slides forward and back for when I'm stapling sets of documents -- to keep my stapling consistent. The staples are easy to reload, too, by pushing in the red, spring-loaded stopper and slipping it up and out; slide in a set of staples and reverse that motion to load. I think that it will last for many years -- and would be a helpful addition to any home or office.
I thought this would be awesome for big stacks of papers and receipts. My old basic stapler just wasn't cutting it. But good Lord! This thing is serious! I used the 5/8 heavy duty bostitch staples with the bostitch heavy duty stapler I went staple crazy just wanting to check it out. I stapled the box it arrived in, then folded 5 times and continued to staple it. I had no issues using the stapler. It came all together. It's pretty light weight considering it's a heavy duty item. I would definitely recommend this. Don't use it on wood! According to my husband that's whole different stapler.
The Bostitch Heavy-Duty Stapler is definitely a heavy duty stapler. I was not thinking it would be this big. For a home it is somewhat overkill but that is much better than those small staplers which jam and never get the staple through the paper. I like that it has a paper stop which makes sure that you get the staples in the same place all the time. It has an Anti-jam mechanism and although I have only had it for less than one week it has not jammed on me. That is usually my biggest complaint with all of the other staplers I have owned. Another thing that I like is that it can use different size staples for various amounts of paper. You know how you try to staple something and the staple just barely makes it through the last sheet? Not with this stapler, you can use 1/4” to 5/8” staples which will staple up to 130 sheets. It is all metal (except for the plastic paper stop). It has rubber feet so that it does not slide when you use it and anti-microbial protected (whatever). I expect this will be the last stapler our family will ever need.
