It has slots for My First Pencil and that's why I chose this one representative
After being frustrated by less-expensive sharpeners, we bit the bullet and purchased a high-end sharpener, only to be greatly disappointed. It did not sharpen even one pencil. We took it out of the box, plugged it in, and inserted a pencil. The sharpener screeched into action for approximately two seconds, then stopped completely. After that, it would do nothing. So, we had to take the time and expense to return it to a local store and eat the cost of shipping. I will not purchase a Stanley Bostich product again.
