I purchased this BOSU ball because it was recommended by the author of 4 HOUR BODY as one of the best things you can use to work out your abs. Basically I bought it for just the one exercise that was mentioned in the book... and WOW, does it seem to work. There are lots of other things detailed in the included manual that the BOSU ball can be used for to work different areas of your body making this a very good multi-purpose piece of equipment. Excellent value, and as usually Walmart has the best price. It seems very well made, where if you take care of it, it should last a long time.
You can use this in almost every other exercise to help train core. Abs were sore for days after myotatic crunch on this.
I use my Bosu every night to do sit-ups.
After looking at the other BOSU trainers that cost twice as much, I rolled the dice on this one, hoping it would do the job. Boy, does it ever. The construction is sturdy and the overall product seems like it will last. When I first got it my kids bounced on it like jackhammers, giving it a good break-in. It took that initial thrubbing without so much as a scuff or pucker, so it gets points for standing up to the worst torture I could throw at it. I mostly do situps and pushups on it. The difference in isolating muscle groups is HUGE over doing the same exercises on the floor. I wish I'd gotten it earlier. Do be aware this BOSU ball is ~21.5" across - a couple of inches smaller in diameter than the one you might be used to at the gym; it may be too small to stand on for some balance exercises you could otherwise do with the larger ball. It's perfect for what I needed, but depending on what your intended workout uses are, it's something to keep in mind.
If you, like me, decide to buy this product because you like using one at a gym, take serious note of the measurements. It is so significantly smaller that everything changes when you use it for exercise. On the plus side, children love it. I always leave stuff like this (exercise ball, stepper, etc.) lying around when kids watch TV, as they will use them while watching (as long as not told to do so!) This gets a lot of their energy out in a healthy way- win win!
I'm very happy I purchased this BOSU ball...it was by far the lowest priced one I found and it seems to be very sturdy so far. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because that it does not have the platform on the bottom that other BOSU balls have. That said, the bottom is level and you can stand on it, so I don't see that as being a big deal.
