I had a analog system before and this digital system is just so much better, no snow or flickering just a clear picture. I tested it first by putting the camera and transmitter about 100 feet away from the monitor which I already had setup in my truck. With the truck door closed the signal had another 2 wooden walls to go through. the signal also had to go around a car battery first because I put the transmitter behind it. I had the camera hooked up to the transmitter by a 100 foot long RCA cable so I could hold and maneuver the camera while I was in the truck. It all worked flawlessly. The camera has the backup guide lines which you can rotate the camera so they are more on the bottom or to the top, and the monitor has 4 rotational settings so you can get the correct view. I am using it on my camper to see what is behind and for backing the camper. I actually have the camera inside pointing out the rear window. I ran an RCA cable from the camera up to a front storage area where I have a switch, the signal goes through the switch and to the transmitter. I also have a second camera mounted in front on the main jack looking down and forward at the camper hitch. This camera is also hooked up to the switch in the camper storage area and gets power from the camper battery. So when I hook the truck up to the camper I have the switch in 1 position and after hookup I flip the switch and turn on my camper running lights to give power to the rear camera and I am ready to travel. It works great.
My only complaint with this unit is that I would like to be able to remove the backup grid on the monitor. I find it distracting at times, but overall, a great system.
Operationally no problems. Need clearer camera installation instructions, more detailed. I bought the non license mount because I wasn't sure I could aim plate mount correctly? The one I have works perfectly, just required a couple extra mounting screws, (included). Just remember, I saw no cameras that could see directly beside your bumper, this would require three cameras, this one is equal to or better than some in this respect.
The Camera connectors from the Camera and the connectors on the wireless Transmitter were the same connectors. The video connectors were both same and the power connectors were both same therefore could not be connected.
