I've been eating nut goodies for 20 yrs. I loved them. Today I bought a bag that is hard as a rock. The flavor is the same and they aren't expired. I thought maybe it was a recipe change, but I can't find anything about that. Bad move if it is though! I won't buy them.

I have a fifty plus year history with Brach's Maple Nut goodies and this time its not the same. The center was crunchier, more toffee like.....well okay. But the outside was a total let down. It was thin and far from the coating of the past. The maple coating had lost it's goodness!

I don't know if the issue is from Brach's or a WalMart storage/transport issue, but these are not the candy of the past. The center is rock hard - I nearly broke a tooth. Even our sharpest German engineered knife could not cut through these things. I have kept these around for years. No more.

I will attest to what others are saying; these are not the same. The "new formula" is awful. I bought a bag and like others bought another at another store just to discover they where awful as well. The center is now rock hard like a Jolly Rancher or something. Unless you really love your dentist do yourself and your wallet a favor and don't buy these you will throw them away!

WalMart Ruins Brach's Maple Nut Goodies

I've loved Brach's Maple Nut Goodies since I was a child ( I'm now 53). Lately any Brach's Maple Nut Goodies purchased from WalMart are exceeding hard—like biting into gravel. I suspect along the WalMart supply chain, the candies are subjected to excessive heat causing them to stale prematurely. 5 stars when purchased anywhere but Walmart. Only 1 star for WalMart ruined rocks.

It's not Wal Mart's fault that the Brach's Maple Nut Goodies are no longer any good! There has been a major change in the entire candy. The outer covering is now like a chocolate consistency and the inside is now rock hard. I have now purchased the candies at the Dollar Store, Drug Emporium, and Wal Mart. I've been trying them for months hoping that it was just a "bad bag." Every place I have purchased them, it has been the same result. The expiration dates are not expired. My conclusion is that the company has made a ghastly change to what used to be a great recipe for a candy. I will no longer purchase them. I wouldn't even rate them 1/2 a star!!!!!!!!! I had to choose 1 star or I could not submit a review.

I have been eating these candies for 40 years now but this will be the last bag! The candy coating was disgusting and the center was crunchy like peanut brittle. Over the last few years the candy has also gotten smaller while the price has gone up. Goodbye to my go to candy pleasure.

I thought it was just us. We had the exact same experience everyone else had. My mom bought 6 bags to keep because she loves them and they are hard to come by in our area so she gets them when she can. She said they tasted awful and were so hard she could not eat them at all. She still has the bags and I have sent several emails to the company and never heard a word back. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!
