I didn't know what to expect from walmart, but when I received my futon it was very nice. The dark wood finish looks great and the material is worth every penny. I would definitely buy a product like this again from walmart. I love it!
Overall I believe this is a good product. I just have a few minor complaints. There were a couple of surface blemishes upon delivery, there were a couple of small parts needed for assembly that were missing and the assembly instructions do not contain clear images.
It is a well designed frame that is very strong, however you need to buy the separate mattress listed on this web page. What comes with it is not really a mattress, more like a piece of foam. I didn't realize this about the mattress when I was looking at the picture of this item on the box at the store. (They did not have one assembled.) The foam mattress will suffice for a while but won't last forever so you will need to buy a better mattress. Once you add that cost in you're near $400 which is more than I wanted to spend but perhaps that is the going rate and I am just not aware of that. Overall the frame is an excellent product. I enjoyed putting it together. If you're not good at assembling things this is definitely not for you.
Nice product, but difficult to assemble. It came in two boxes. Both boxes had seperate sets of instructions that did not match. Parts lists on both sets were incomplete. Some parts listed in the parts list were not used anywhere in the instructions and some instructions included parts that were not included and not on the parts list. I called customer service and they said they would have the missing parts to me with in 5 days but two weeks later I have not received the parts. I did assemble the futon with parts I had and it seems to work pretty well. I like the futon and it is a space saver.
Fast shipment. I got the futon in 10 days. The same day I ordered the coffee table to match the futon from another online furniture store. Now 4 weeks has passed and my order is still "in the warehouse". No response per my query either. The installation was easy but make sure you do every step correct. I had put the two pieces of the back in wrong direction and I had to ask a strong guy to depart them with a hammer. Otherwise I would have done all the installation by myself. The quality is not as good as I have imagined. It "looks" good though. I haven't bought the mattress yet so I haven't started to use the futon. Hope it's durable.
The futon seemed nice for the price I was paying but then when it arrived I realized that it didn't come with a mattress. I check online and it said the mattress and slip cover are sold seperately. All together the futon would be about $500 which is more than I would like to pay. I would rather get a nice sofa lounger for that price. P.S. Frustrating to put together, then I had to take it back apart to return it. P.S.S. Read ad carefully: MATTRESS AND SLIP COVER NOT INCLUDED!!!
I bought the futon a year ago. And it worked great. But then I moved and when I was reassembling the frame a barrelnut in the front board snapped in half. So since they don't give you any extras I thought it would be ok without it. But I was wrong. If you weigh more than 100lbs. it won't be able to hold you. The front board snapped down the middle. Now I have to buy metal brackets to hold it together. If this doesn't work then I'm gonna have to get a new couch.
