This smoker was easy to assemble, and seems to work as good as my old charcoal smoker. The water tray and chip box are full size, all the fat drips into the water tray, so clean up is pretty easy.
I JUST GOT THIS SMOKER FOR CHRISTMAS AMD COULD NOT WAIT TO TRY IT. IT WORKED PERFECTLY. THE RIBS AND PORK I SMOKED WERE SOME OF THE BEST THAT I EVER HAD. THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL WORKED AND I WAS ABLE TO REGULATE THE HEAT LIKE AN EXPERT. I USE IT AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK NOW AND IT ALWAYS WORKS PERPECTLY.
My first one came and the front was smashed so I took it back and reordered another one and it came just fine and worked wonderful. It was well worth the money. Would definately recommend.
Just got this yesterday. Very nice welded seams, insulated cabinet and easy to assemble. Seasoned it running steady at 315 degree. A lot nicer than expected.
Got this for my husband for Fathers Day...he LOVES it! It did come with a small dent in the door...but that is cosmetic and dosen't affect the product. He has smoked a few different kinds of meat & is still experimenting. Product works great. I would recommend to others.
When I first used this unit, I smoked a 12 lb pork shoulder and was concerned because the temp guage never got above 200 degrees. I went to read reviews and people were slamming this unit complaining about the same issue. Well, the shoulder came out awesome! Today, I'm doing BB ribs but this time I bought a thermometer for an indoor oven to get a more accurate reading and it was pretty much right on target with the temp control settings on the dial for the smoker. I also bought a wireless temp guage and stuck the probe through the hole on the back of the smoker. Now I have it running at 250 and I can monitor up to 100 feet away. The long and short is, this smoker is great but the temp guage on the unit is WORTHLESS! I almost returned this and I'm happy I didn't.
I initially loved the smoker, first couple of times used it produced great meat and was easy to use. I love the fact that it is insulated and although hot to the touch it will not burn little hands if they touch the exterior. Upon 3rd use I noticed a temp issue and could not get the temperature above 200 degrees. This use has shown the same issue, temps hard to get up around 180 - 200 degrees. I have a 25 lb turkey that is going to be finished in the oven because the smoker can not reach the desired 225 deg temp range needed. Frustrating!
This item is a piece of junk. First it was damaged when I opened the box. The metal box section was full of dents I guess from shipping. Also the pre-assembled screws were stripped out and wouldn't tighten. The hinges on the doors are very poor designed with rivets that were all loose. The paint was allready chipping off in some places. Brinkmans customer Support is hard to talk to someone. You have to leave a message and they MIGHT call you back in a week or so. Also found out on their website that they dont even make this smoker anymore. I returned it to Walmart for a refund, then went and bought a Masterbuilt Vertical Electric Smoker.
This smoker was a huge let down. everything about it screams cheap! From the poor seal on the door to the inabilaty to create consistent heat this product was a failure. I am amazed that walmart even sells something this bad! After two unsuccessful attempts this product was returned. Thank God for Walmart's great return policy!
I ordered this item site to store shipping. When i first got it something looked wrong. After I got it home I realized it had been already opened and then resealed (not a good sign). Upon opening it I found.. 1) the top was dented 2) the lower door was dented. 3) both front lower corners were so baldly crushed the seems had split and the door would not close. It truly looked like it had been dropped off the back of a truck. I had to wonder how anyone could ship out an item in that condition. I took it back.
