I wasn't sure if this would work on my old dusk to dawn light. The light itself worked but it wouldn't turn itself off when it got light out. I plugged the new part into it today and as soon as it started getting dark out the light came on. When I shined a flashlight on the cell it turned off so I'm guessing it will turn off when it gets light out.
Look at this option instead of replacing your old security light.
They no longer carry these at our local Home Depot, so I was glad to find it at Walmart. This one plugs into our mercury vapor light and works well.
A direct replacement for the failed sensor that was on my Globe Electric Dusk to Dawn outdoor security light. Plugged it in Twisted it to lock it in place turn the power on and within a few moments the light came on since it was still in the box before I installed it the sensor was still detecting Darkness so the light came on but within moments it switched off took an old glove and placed it over the sensor waited a few moments and the light came on Sun was shining brightly went back up on the ladder took the glove off the sensor waited a few moments the light turned off. Tested perfectly; now just have to wait for Dusk to arrive see if it turns itself back on and in the morning I'll check again to see if it's off but I don't think that's going to be necessary I just want to be thorough
it was what was needed. Works perfectly!
Great outside light
I just sent it back because it didn't work. Waiting for another one. I really hope the next one works, if not i won't be getting anther one.
