Easy to set up and very user friendly. Compact and stores great. Highly recommend this scanner.
I'm really happy with this scanner, the size is perfect! The page feeder works well and scans both sides with a single pass! You just need to make sure there is some room in front of the scanner so your documents don't fall since it doesn't have a tray at the bottom. I was able to connect it to my iPhone immediately, had a harder time connecting it to my MAC because the instructions, in my opinion, weren't clear, but once it was set up it worked like a charm.
Easy to set up and use, very compact fits anywhere.
This unit performs flawlessly. This unit actually works better than their more expensive units.
haven't used it yet. just got it.
The ADS-1700W is fast and efficient. The ability to send several papers to a file on my computer with ease. I have gotten rid of so much paper, I can only smile at the order in my office. Have a sense of security knowing I won't lose important papers.
I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I was extremely excited to receive the scanner and could not wait to set it up. Downloading the software was relatively easy. It took some time to connect to my wifi, but that was eventually done. The scanner comes with settings which were a little confusing. The main issue I had was scanning multiple pages. If I tried to scan a three page document, it saved on my computer as three separate documents instead of one document with three pages. I contacted customer support through their chat and they advised me to try download the software again and they send more detailed instructions. This did not help. I then called their help desk and I was advised to change the document from a JPEG to a PDF. This worked and the scanner worked like a charm. I love how quickly it scans a documents and that it scanned all pages in order. The largest document that I scanned was 24 pages. I don`t like that it doesn`t have a tray to catch the pages once they pass through the machine and also that the pages do not scan straight. The size of the scanner is great as it does not take up much room. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Nice crisp clear scanning. Fast too
this appears to be the upgrade to the ads-1500w. It has faster speeds and network capability but it looses some of the features of the ads-1500w which I think is a step backwards. The ads-1500w had a menu for the cloud services to scan directly to dropbox. The ads-1700w does not have the same icon on the menu and you MUST attach the scanner via usb in order to use the web cloud features. Why? Does't this subtract from the portability of being able to plug it in to a wall socket and go, and not use a PC? I have also found that the ads-1700w will not scan to my PR4100 NAS shared folder. I'm working with brother support but cannot get it to work. It will scan wirelessly to a PC, even the usb memory stick on the NAS, but not the NAS shared folder. The loss of direct scan to dropbox without having to hook up a PC and the NAS san to feature might be a deal killer unless they can get this fixed. So far, I only see the ads-1700w better than the ADS-1500w in the realm of speed. Otherwise it lost some features.
Scanner scans, but scans at a moderate pace. Worst thing about this scanner is that it pulls multiple pages through at a time. It can take me a solid hour to scan a loan packet because I have to sit there and watch it and count pages and then verify that all pages are there or do single or max 5 pages at a time to just make sure that it doesn't pull multiple pages through at once.
