[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great machines for beginners. I had never sewn before but I picked this up pretty quickly thanks to the online videos (there's a QR code on the machine that takes you to them). The guide book was also really helpful for beginners and clearly explains where everything is located! I'll be using this to hem my pants and dresses.
I bought this machine to replace my old beginner Brother sewing machine I have had for 24 years. It's a lot quieter than what I had and it is simple to set up. I appreciate that the threading is similar to the old one. I would like for the thread take up lever to be easier to access. It doesn't rise up enough to make it easier when threading but that's minor. Over all I'm happy with this machine.
I love the easy to follow instructions, there are tutorials that help first time users set up and use the machine! It works great!
I hThiave tried so many sewing machines I thought I was never going to find the right one. This is it! Finally I have a sewing machine for me. Really simple to use. If I can use it anyone can. Just make sure you use good thread. Thank you so much!
Great light weight and versatile machine, for both beginners and more experienced folks. and MUCH more affordable than other places selling the same machine. Get it at Walmart and it comes with a carrying / storage case and all kinds of useful accessories. I saw this machine listed for at least $100 more in other places with NO case. But the instruction manual is a little annoying. Instructions that not relevant to the model I have aren't helpful, and ultimately I have to figure out the instruction on my own or spend time with customer service. It's a pain, but for this price and for what I got, I'm still very happy. Get it together, Brother.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I followed the videos to wind the bobbin and insert the thread through the needle. The videos weren't of the exact model so it was more challenging. Overall, I like the functionality of this sewing machine (The first one I own personally). The digital interface is really easy to use. I wished the plastic bit that holds the bobbin in place for winding was made out of something sturdier. I had to use a bit of force to pull out the bobbin which might break after a while and it doesn't seem like an easy piece to replace. I liked testing out some of the different stitches. They look like the image!
I am a beginner sewer, and this is my first sewing machine. most of the things are easy to understand and easy to use, i wish it came with a CD or some video tutorials or link , so I can learn more about the machine usage and different feet it came with .this machine has an automatic threader, which is good and 60 built-in stitches, which I am still figuring out how and when to use them.
Sometimes sews correctly and other times it knots up in the bobbin. I use god thread so that is not the problem. I am very unsatisfied with this product.
I bought this sewing machine because it's supposed to be "great for beginners", well that's definitely not true in my case. It took a month of fiddling around with the setting before I found one that actually sewed a clean line. I was having issues with the thread bunching up. Now I'm having issues with fabric getting stuck inside. It's impossible to sew elastic ends together if they're not thick and my needles keep breaking. I've gone through a half dozen needles already and threw away multiple projects cause the fabric is getting tore up inside the machine. I would recommend buying a sewing machine that is more expensive and higher quality because this thing is not worth the headache.
Not good experience with this machine.
