I am posting this review as part of my entry in Walmart's Fall Sewing Contest. This sewing machine is amazing!! Don't think that because the price is cheap, that the machine is low quality! I have used it for every single outfit I have made,even pillows! Also I have sewed jeans, leather, and pajama shorts as well! It does come with a very helpful instructional DVD, but I watched it after I had already taught myself. What I like about the machine is that it is very simple to use! It is easy to thread (I followed the images at the top of the machine for help), easy to adjust stitches, the zigzag stitches are sharp, easy to wind the bobbins, the reverse button works smoothly, and it is lightweight. I would recommend this to everyone who is a beginner at sewing, but it is also great for advanced sewers! Some things I had trouble with is the thread breaking, (which I found out was mostly because the thread was cheap), The fabric getting stuck underneath the lever inside the machine, the stitches being straight at the top, but the thread is knotted at the bottom (when this happens re-threading the machine and checking the tension always fixes it for me), and feeding the leather through the machine! Overall, I didn't care to much about the complications, because this was my only sewing machine and had to make it work! I have had this machine for 7 years and have never cleaned it until last year, and it still works great, though its a little loud! :)
Because of my recent move, I was faced with a lot of sewing jobs. Un-affordable services of a professional are too costly BUT I'm a NEWBIE to sewing. I bought this machine a month ago. Instructions and demos on the accompanying DVD were so clear, I was sewing the same day ! AWESOME !
For a woman of my age who loves to sew and have RA in her hands I was amaze when I received the machine. It was light easy to carry, convenient instructions, DVD and Written phamplet, beautifully designed. I love the painted flowers on it. What a nice gift from me to me I am in my seventies and I believe I will still enjoy it in my nineties. Yep Yep hurray Thanks Wal-mart
I love this machine just got ot friday and it was only 50 bucks in the store because it was black friday i had another brother sewing machine but i decided to get this one the other day and decided to give my other one to my sister, i love how this one has the flower design on it! Works really great and its pretty quiet too great price and it works great! would reccommend it to anyone who wants to sew!
Very nice product for the money. It is easy to thread and wind a bobbin. Has an accessory case built right in. Was looking for a replacement for my old one and it used the same bobbin and power cord. This one had a removable plate for sleeves that my old one did not. Great value for the price.
If I can use this machine anyone can. It is a great machine for a beginner. My only complaint is the DVD has no verbal instructions only pictures, otherwise very pleased and would recomend.
With several seamstress in our home, I thought we needed another sewing machine. My other machine is the blue & white Brothers model and I have enjoyed and appreciated that machine very much. So I figured who could go wrong with this cute Brothers for the price? I was very pleased with this machine! It sews smoothly and the machine is steady; a quality machine. It also has some neat little features too, decorative stitching etc. A darling machine and good ol' Brothers quality. You simply cannot beat this deal. More than satisfied with this machine. A great buy!
I don't really sew much. I was using my Mom's old 1950s Kenmore to do a little bit of repair sewing. That thing would drive a sane person crazy. So, I bought this hoping it would be simple and easy to use. And it is, far and away better than what I been using. It doesn't do a lot of fancy stuff, but I didn't need that. One reviewer said her's arrived stuck in reverse. If the presser foot is down and you press reverse that happens. Lifting the presser foot fixes it. Overall very good value for the money.
How come in other Brother boxes, they mention how many "Built-In" Stitches it has. On the LS2000, it just says 20 Stitch "Functions". I am new to this. Brother should have put that it only has 2 Built-In Stitches with 20 Stitch Functions instead of omitting the first. It's frustrating. I returned it and bought another with 25 "Built-In" Stitches (with over 60 Stitch Functions) for just 18 bucks more. The box info is misleading and so I give low rating.
This machine might be great if your sewing really light stuff but I wasnt happy with it because it was just to light weight for what I wanted. Didnt know it was as light weight as it was. So I took it back to the store.
