My mom got me this for Christmas after I constantly asked to borrow hers and low and behold, I have my own now. I've taken sewing classes (Home education) in grade school, so I'm no beginner, but I am certainly no major designer either! :P This is something that does all the basics and it very compact which is wonderful for those who don't want to lug around a large sewing machine to do patch-ups here and there or need to make a last minute blanket or gift for someone. Very high quality materials, no jerking/smooth operation, and quiet. 5 stars for sure!
This is a great machine I agree the bobbin winds nicely I use this machine for basic sewing for my business no problems jams or glitches although being male I am rougher than I should be I broke one side of the clips on the flat top case in the front but my fault anyways overall does well with nylon and other threads and I run it for about 4 to 6 hours at a time and is is perfect it is loud when running flat out full speed but smooth and great stitches it is capable of more stitches with foot change I would of gave it five stars but any part that is made to be opened and closed should have more than little thin plastic clip just my opinion besides when I'm done it can sit on my cutting table and is so small barely know it is there
I bought this on Black Friday. It has shown that it has 20 stitches, but it has only 2 stitches, i.e....straight stitch and zigzag stitch.......but overall it is a good sewing machine for the beginners.....i started stitching......it has not given me any trouble......
This sewing machine is the best I could find for the price. It is very basic and only does a straight and zig zag sticth. It works well so far for the basic sewing I do. Nothing broke on it and the thread did not get jammed when I tried it out. My only complaint is that the description said it had 20 stitches. When in fact it only has two (zig zag and straight). There are five different stitch widths and 4 different lenghts. So the different comination of lengths and widths equals 20, and I am assuming that is why they said it can do 20 different stitches.
I bought this for my daughter for Christmas to make clothes for her dolls. This is a basic machine for her to learn. She loves it. She wanted one like mines but I have an advanced one with over 150 stitches. This is a very good machine for girls to learn how to sew.
I am just starting to sew and wanted something at a good price that would last for a good amount of time. I really like this and have already sewed my daughter's outfit for a Christmas recital without any major problems besides my lapse in sewing skills. I am very happy with it so far and no major probelms. It also got really good reviews for the best sewing machine for the money on black friday with consumer reports.
I bought this machine to do some small easy projects for Christmas. I am not through the second project and this machine is broken. It won't pick up the bottom thread and the timing is all off already. It has jammed up on me several times in the process and I have been being as delicate as I can. Good machine for a child to learn on.
Not practical for anyone looking to produce actual projects. The machine itself is cheaply constructed, only has two stitch functions. The foot pedal is ridiculously huge. Great for the 12-14yr old - the junior high home economics level of projects.
the machine is loud, stiff and the reverse does not always return to forward. I bought 2 and am returning both. Glad I tried it before giving as a gift. It does have a great bobbin winder. I am better off to pay a little more and get a smoother running machine for my grand daughter.
I bought this machine for my 11 year old daughter for Christmas. I figured at the low price it would be a good learning machine and I would not be out a lot of money if she did not take to sewing. We had some trouble getting the thread tension right and it would tangle or not stitch right. I thought maybe it was user error as we are new to sewing but my daughter took a sewing class and the teacher said the machine just did not work right after she tried everything she knew to get it working. So this will be going back to the store.
