I am a manager of an assisted living facility. I ordered this on behalf of one of our residents. He was so suprised and happy when it arrived the following day. It has been very easy for him to operate and he is very happy.
Ok so far, haven't gotten into Margin settings etc. or other, been too busy, only used for straight notes so far. All going well.
I bought this item to help out a cousin in Mexico. Unfortunately they are not quite ready for flash drives and printing but this is an Awesome alternative. She loved it and now won't feel left out, she and another student were the only ones without one.
Excellent instrument for non-computer applications. The only criticism concerns the quality of the correction tape. The erasures are not totally adequate. The erased character or word still "ghosts" on the paper stock. The obvious solution is to never use the "print" mode; rather, always use the line option which allows review and correction of any "typo" before actual printing on paper.
I THINK my 83 year old sister will eventually be able to learn how to use the Code and Alt for simple things like setting the margins and tabs. However, she will never be able to hear the tiny, tiny beep that replaced the warning bell for the end of the line in real typewriters, not half word processors. Since most people who insist on a typewriter instead of a computer are probably over 80 years old, the warning beep should be louder. Most seniors have hearing loss.
Typewriter arrived, could enter text on keyboard, typewriter responded but no result on paper. Hammer didn't move. Called tech support who said to take to repair facility 62 miles away. Two 62 mile trips, one to take there, one to pickup when fixed? I don't think so. Returned to Walmart for refund. Obvious when received product had been repackaged . . .
I can't figure it out
