I'm still pretty amateur when it comes to sewing and I had been using a more base model Brother machine that I purchased when I first started sewing a few years ago that I really liked. I decided to treat myself for Mother's Day with a more advanced machine since I was starting to do more sewing and I'm very happy that I did. I bought this before there were any reviews online, so it was a big leap of faith, but it has not disappointed me one bit. I was intimidated at first when I saw all the features, but from doing research and just practicing with it, I've picked it up quickly and am amazed at how good this machine is and how easy it makes things. The number and variety of stitches is amazing and the features such as the thread cutter and the self-threader are so convenient. My sewing skills have increased drastically since I bought this and the machine itself has played a big part in that. For the price this is an incredible value and a wonderful machine for both novices and more skilled sewers.
I LOVE my Brother Pacesetter PS500. I am just getting started with sewing, so have a lot to learn. This machine does way more than I am capable of doing at the present moment, but i intend to learn. So pleased with the ease of use. Cannot wait to learn how to use the button hole foot and the walking foot that I purchased separately. Am working on making quilt tops at the present time.
Love this machine! The features are fabulous. I love the reinforcement stitch, the thread cutter. These features are usually on more pricey machines. It sews so smooth and quiet. I love all the stitch choices. So very easy to thread and bobbin winding is used friendly. Can not say enough it is so wonderful love it a whole bunch. It has renewed my fun for sewing. Thanks
I purchased my pacesetter PS500 after two other machine purchases. I love this machine it does everything I want and much more! I Still believe it's the best buy for the money compared to its closest competitor. ftd Michael
I bought this because I needed more throat space to do machine quilting. This was a perfect fit for me. I have had it only 2 months but I couldn't be happier. Very smooth running machine, easy to thread, easy to thread bobbin, lots of stitches.
After searching the Internet and googling other reviews, I found the machine I was looking for. It's a nice and quiet machine, runs smoothly, and has the features I was looking for, and the price range I was looking for. I listened to the other reviewer's and bought my machine from a local quilting store, this way I can get it tuned up or fixed when I need it. The local shop also offered 4 free classes which helped me understand the computerized machine. Although I didn't want an embroidery machine I feel that brother should have been a little more upfront about the lettering size. The needle can only go so wide therefore, it's a small letter. I would also like a kit of feet for quilting. (It does come with several other feet). The machine is considered an XL and it weighs about 22 pounds. I bought a case on wheels which has extra pockets and I love it. I have had no problems with the automatic threader or bobbin issues. I would highly recommend this machine.
This is a wonderful machine. Not to complicated. I havent mastered this great.button hole yet, & my blind stitch, but im working on mastering it. Ijust love this machine
I am an experienced sewer, and I have a couple machines - a bottom line computerized Brother, an SE400 for small embroideries which is all I do, a vintage Pfaff, and a modern well featured Elna for heavy sewing jobs like bags. I bought this Brother PS500 about a year and a half ago because the pandemic had set in and I wanted some excitement in the sewing room. As with all Brothers, the manual is complete and excellent, and the sewing is so much fun. The machine is basically quiet, it has enough stitches for me, a large harp, does free motion on smaller pieces wonderfully - I was so happy with its free motion ability!! I haven't tried a larger quilt on it, as I do those on my vintage Pfaff. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the needle threader which absolutely threads it for me. It threads the needle with all the threads I have used on it from a 40 weight King Tut cotton to a 60 weight. Bobbin loading is easy, and it uses my purchased preloaded bobbins well. So far so good. I have made doll clothes, done masks, quilted a bunch of smaller quilts, sewn up small quilt tops, and hemmed scrubs and sewn tops on it. I love this machine. If I wanted another machine it would be a Brother as well! :) I bought the extension table and several other feet because I love presser feet - and it comes with a lot of presser feet as well. :) I have other Brother feet I purchased for my other Brother machines, and they all fit.
I love my new Brother Pacesetter sewing machine.
I am happy with the machine, in fact, I bought 3 in the Bahamas during the Pandemic, but one came without a bobbin cover. I went to the dealer where it was purchased but was given the runaround. I would like to purchase a bobbin cover please.
