[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such a neat printer/cutter. The initial set up is pretty easy to do. We had a little trouble at first getting our wireless internet set up, but we eventually got it. We were just looking in the wrong place. It comes with a mat, spatula, and a stylus pen for the display. I will be honest, we had some trouble getting it to cut the pattern. It is super easy to set up what pattern you want. It just takes a few steps. I had to run the mat through the printer and pattern several times before it actually cut. I'm not sure if it was because the blade was new or what. I presumed it would have cut first thing. I put it on different settings and it just wasn't cutting the card stock. After several attempts it finally did cut. I pulled the paper up and used the spatula to lift my pattern off. What is super cool with this Brother is that you can actually scan your own designs and use your computer to print/cut out whatever you like. It will cut vinyl, some fabrics, cardstock, etc. I'm definitely going to get some materials and make some Christmas crafts with this. The possibilities are endless with this cutter. This is a crater's dream come true. I was intimidated at first, but now I can't wait to make designs for tshirts, decals, and everything in between.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brothers for my honest opinion/review. I didn't have much experience with these types of machines but now I'm hooked. The machine was easy to setup and download the software. The machine is also very quiet when cutting and gets it done fast. There are so many different projects this machine can do and I'm excited with the possibilities of all the crafts I can create.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product, the ScanNCut SDX85S, for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of it, and I'm so happy to share it, because my daughter and I are having SO much fun with it! Its almost endless possibilities for creativity is such a bright spot for us during this crazy and (seemingly endless) time spent indoors. This was easy to set up and hook up to my cellphone. We've been making a lot of cute stickers and cards, and we're planning to make some vinyl transfers to iron on t-shirts this weekend. Seriously, I feel like we'll be learning and discovering new features and ways to use all of the included fun designs for a good long time! I highly recommend this - it's awesome!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cutting machine was super easy to set up and the sample project it included was absolutely adorable and got me really excited to try more things. The machine comes with everything you need to get started (cutting mat, a few tools and a blade cartridge) and I totally loved all of the storage for tools, etc. You can make your own projects by scanning in an image (such a great feature!) or you can use some of the over 250 built in designs that comes with the machine to make your project. The machine also has a built-in LCD touchscreen! I absolutely love it and I'm excited about all of the wonderful things I will get to make!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I am not a pro (yet) when it comes to the scan and cut machines. But, I am learning I have another brand and I can say it can be very overwhelming at times the setup by itself took me well over an hour. When it came to the setup for the Brother Scan and Cut I found myself cruising smoothly through setup. It was so quick I had set aside a couple of hours to do the setup. I was able to fully explore it plus became familiar with all the various modes. I even did the cute project my favorite color is purple by the way so that was extra kudo points. The machine comes with what I would call a starter pack. The starter pack comes with a cutting mat, a stylus, small spatula, and a blade cartridge. All in a cute plastic envelope that can be easily stored in the machines flip up storage compartment. I like the fact that I can design and make my own projects. Just by scanning in an image. For now till I get really good at designing my own I will stick with the over 250 built in designs that comes with the Scan and Cut. I like the ease of the flip up built-in LCD touchscreen. You can use the stylus or your fingertip which I want to keep the screen as clean as possible so the stylus comes in handy. I can appreciate the fact that it's not loud at all it didn't disturb my fiance unlike the other brand cut machine that I have. I've taken the time to research blades and I've found that they are for more budget friendly than other brands which is a major plus for me. I am very impressed and I see myself using this Brother Scan and Cut for many more projects to come.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this machine, using for fabrics and paper. This was my first time using a cutting machine. Set up and Installation were both very simple, includes so many templates and fonts for free on the machine itself. You need to get to know the machine and play around with the settings. It took me a few trial and errors and some research and videos to get to know the machine better. Start up was simple, I watched some videos on how to operate, and made the project that came with the machine-no problems at all. I am still learning all options and looking forward to all I can create. The transfer between the machine and the computer via internet is very easy and you can add collections through a usb. My all time favorite feature is the scan feature, it allows me to print stickers and scanning into the machine it will cut them without me having to have a cut file. The auto blade works great for beginners. I love the tool storage. The screen is great. This machine has many other features but I haven't used them yet. For many reasons this is a superior product than other brands. Also, love the fact it's a stand alone device. The possibilities are literally endless. I highly recommend it no matter your skill level.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I am so impressed with this Scan n cut machine so far! I've been working on making some labels for containers, but am excited to try out other projects too. Next, I'll be doing a vinyl transfer. It's very user friendly, and was very easy to figure out. I had it set up and ready to cut within 5 minutes. It cut quickly and efficiently. Couldn't ask for anything better.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a little intimidated to get started but it was super easy. All you do is plug in and insert the cutter, which was as easy as inserting an ink cartridge. Right off the bat, there is a tutorial included to make an ornate, cut-out box, which gave me confidence in using everything. They even included card stock for the trial project! As for creating custom projects, I like that you can use their software, CanvasWorkspace, right from the web or download it. I also watched a tutorial on their blog on how to make a silhouette from scanning in a photograph which looked really interesting too. The possibilities are endless on what you can create and there is likely a video and tutorial on it! I want to create some custom gifts for the holidays and try cutting vinyl.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. It certainly lives up to the Brother name. I love that it has a built in screen and that i don't need another device hooked up to it in order to create projects. It takes a little bit of practice to learn to use it but is pretty simple thereafter. Made some appliques to put on balloons for a gender reveal so far.
Did not cut automatically like described. It cut through to the mat. I have a CM model so that is why I wanted the auto blade.
