Although I am being compensated for this review, my opinions are my own and my review is honest and unbiased. I Love my ScanNCut DX 330D and honestly can't live without the scanner function. I cut mostly fabrics and vinyls, so being able to use a scrap of fabric or vinyl and do a background scan for placement is invaluable to me. It allows me to place my cut file in the exact position that I want. If that fabric happens to have a pattern that I want to capture in the cut, the background scan allows me to see where that pattern is on my screen. The half cut setting makes cutting adhesive and heat transfer vinyls easy and quick. The auto blade detection entirely on the machine without having to use software is truly a joy! This is my go to cutting machine.
I went from thinking why do I need a cutting machine? To knowing I will never be without a ScanNCut! Sure, it cuts; fabric, paper, leather, vinyl and so much more, but it also writes with pens, has embossing tools, a ton of included designs and free software! Its versatility and ease of use are amazing. I needed just the right card for a 100th birthday party. The guest was amazed to receive a custom, personalized card. She proclaimed it was the best card ever! After my friend tested mine for a complex quilt she was working on, she purchased one too! I am receiving compensation for my honest evaluation of this valuable tool.
What little I know about the SDX330 is Great I just wish there were more training classes available in my area. I love the machines but I am one who needs hands on training and projects. I am in Sacramento and the nearest classes are in San Jose or Santa Rosa I also wish it were like the Brother embroidery machines where you can buy single designs
This machine is amazing - auto blade feature cannot be beat and the fact that it has Disney designs just makes it all the better - this is an upgrade from my first scan n cut which I bought when they first came out the improvement technology wise make this thing so easy to use and so much fun!

One of the reasons I enjoy using my ScanNCut is because the cutting blades can automatically detect the thickness of whatever material I put on the mat. This has greatly simplified the cutting process because I know the machine will figure it out for me. I also feel the ability of the machine to cut up to 3 mm means I can get a lot of use out of it because I can cut so many different materials. I hope Brother continues to expand the auto blade collection. Brother has compensated me for leaving this review, but I have provided my honest opinion about this machine and its features.
I love the machine and it's capabilities but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to use it. Better tutorials from step one they end would be helpful.
I'm loving the new ScanNCut DX. It cuts quickly and quietly and the new rotary auto-blade is a fun addition for cutting all kinds of materials. I use the machine most often to cut out business cards for my small business and to make birthday cards for friends and family. I really love how compact and portable the machine is too. I live in an apartment with limited studio space but it's always easy for me to store the ScanNCut away when I'm not using it. Although I am being compensated for this review, my opinions are my own and I hope it helps you find a great craft cutting machine!
The machine is wonderful BUT LACKS adequate instruction on set up and use.
I thought the blade sensor technology would be a great feature, but the first time I used it to cut cardstock, it pretty much ruined the mat by leaving deep cuts in the mat basically ruining it. If the machine is going to damage the mat on first use, the price of replacement mats needs to be lowered. I have older ScanNCut with adjustable blade depth and it doesn't do this, unless I mess up. Have been reluctant to use machine again and ruin a new mat.
