I've been using the bother SE425 model for about 2-3 months now and I'm beyond happy with it, I'm an upholstery tech my family has been in upholstery for close to 50 years, so I've been around sowing machines for most of my life and the 425 is a great addition to me, I use it at home mostly for my personal projects and it hasn't let me down, I would suggest anyone looking to buy a machine to get the brother SE425!
This machine is great, easy to use and set up. I love that there are no attachments to do decorative stitching and only a pressor foot change to do buttonholes, just select your stitch or buttonhole and sew. This is my first Brother machine and I'm lovin it. I have some problems with my hands and did find it a little difficult to change the needle, only because of my problem. Everything else has been very easy to use. I have had it for 12 days and have finished one project and almost finished the other one, it sews through thick fabric very easily. As I said I'm Lovin it.
I have only had this machine a couple of weeks but so far it has definitely surpassed my expectations. It will not let u do short cuts and is very much computerized!!! The only problem so far was the sensitivity of winding the bobbin. Other than that. It's been great
Got to play (use) our new toy to do 10 embroideries for May 14, 2016. It's so wonderful and easy to keep learning. Learned a last week that if you make a pattern smaller, you need to DROP the stitch-count too. LOL
I am so in love with this machine. I wanted one I could not only see with but could do quilting as well and I wanted to learn to embroider, and at this price I couldn't give it up! I am so happy with it I love everything about it all the options it has not only for sewing but embroidering as well! I have not had any problems with it what so ever! I was astonished when I didn't have to use the peddle with it but I could also set it to sew at whatever speed I wanted! It tells me when the bobbin is getting low while sewing and that is really handy to me it has so many options that it's endles what you could do! And it's so easy to use! If you do have questions about things in the mechine the Manuel does great to explain them! I love being able to quilt and also embroider my quilts! I know you will fall in love with this machine the fist time you use it like I did!!! “I am posting this review as part of my entry in Walmart's Fall Sewing Contest.”
This machine is awesome, I didn't even read the directions and it was so simple to thread and use! I love the different stitches and the touch screen, and the embroidery function is super cool, you just pick what you want and it does it for you, I love this machine it is totally worth the price!
I am posting this review as part of my entry in Walmart's Holiday Sewing Contest. I purchased the Brother SE425 because it was a sewing and embroidery machine in one. The first SE425 embroidery feature was defective, so I returned it for another SE425. I love everything about this machine. It offers many stitches, accessories, buttonholes, frames, fonts, and embroidery patterns. The sewing is flawless; especially, with the auto stitch functions. I love being able to personalize items/gifts with the beautiful embroidery patterns and with monograms. However, I wish it came with a larger hoop. I am going to purchase a hoop set from Walmart.com or Amazon. Overall, this is a sturdy and an excellent machine. The photos below were created with this machine from New Look A6258 pattern for my daughter's choir program in less than 1 hour each.
I love this sewing machine! It sews so smooth and straight and the embroidery is great and so much fun! Would buy again and I highly recommend. Super easy to send fonts to machine from computer but I did purchase software (Letter It and Monogram It). Great value for the price and Walmart pickup was a plus.
My review is for the Brother SQ9185 --- I have been quilting for a few years and started out with just a basic Singer - no fancy stitches or electronics. My Brother machine is so much quieter and easy to use and I just love the automatic needle threading. I have made two (2) quilts for my sisters and they truly enjoy them. I really like the ability to set the speed of the machine so when I'm on a "long stretch" I can adjust the speed very easily. I really like my Brother and would recommend it to anyone --- from a novice to an expert!!! My next project I would love to create an embroidered quilt. Happy Holidays!!!!!
When I first got this machine I loved it, but at about day 28 the tension started acting up, after working with it I finally got it to working right and after about two projects it went out again, all I was doing was embroidering with the bobbin thread. On the 14th of March I wrote Brother asking for help, on the 16th I called them but was on hold for 30 min and had to hang up, then I wrote them again, they say they will reply around 24 hours but this is the 18th and I still have had no response on email or on their website! After 37 days I returned the machine to Walmart who was great considering it was over the 30 day refund limit. They gave me a full refund! so, the machine stinks, Brother support stinks and Walmart customer service is great!
