I just got this Machine for Christmas (2016). I haven't sewed on a machine since I was in middle school! But I will have to say after reading the quick guide and also skimming the owners manual I was up and running in no time! So easy to use, and relatively quiet! Finished my first project within 4 hours, a simple project bag which included a zipper! I have seen negative reviews, and I have to ask, did you even really give the machine a chance? If I was up and running within 30min after not using a sewing machine in a good 22 years, then maybe a quick read of the owners manual is needed for you!
Easy to use and great machine for someone like me that has not sewed in 30 years and see what I made
I have added this machine for my everyday use and I am learning to incorporate all of it's functions.
The machine was well packed and arrived in a timely manner. It was easy to set up and I made my first button holes for the quiet book shown.I love the drop down needle and drop in bobbin feature. It does come with a manual, but I find lots of video tutorials online videos to be most helpful. Also very easy to remove bobbin case for cleaning.
Purchased a very basic machine for my daughter years ago and enjoyed sewing with it when visiting. When it came time to replace my old machine because I was preparing to do a lot of home decor sewing, this was my 1st choice! Love the speed control, accessories, ease of use are excellent. Here is a picture of my 1st project, a rag quilt for a baby shower per the new Dad's request.
I have been pleasantly surprised at the ease of using this machine. I do have advanced experience with both home machines and industrial machines and was initially concerned about the new technology presented in this machine (I last sewed 8 years ago due to my rheumatoid arthritis and issues with my hands). I watched a couple of videos about how to thread and begin using the machine via YouTube and found it to be a very friendly interface to jump right in and sew with. I've utilized the manual for an issue that occurred after my little dog decided to step on the pedal while I was setting up a button to sew on my garment. I have had wonderful success with the self threading feature and the easy snap on feet and the new technology in creating button holes. I spent a week creating the little outfits for my favorite little two-year-old and as you'll notice I sewed with a wide variety of fabrics from polar fleece to seer sucker and appliques, finding the machine to handle all of the fabrics really well. I especially like that the machine is very lightweight to lift, but so far has stood up to my projects.
Love this machine! Computer settings easy to interpret. I'm only having trouble getting used to lifting the foot from the right. It's just an old habit I have to break. Love the threading assist. Solid machine
I'm very new to sewing. This is actually my first machine! I used to practice on my grandmother's Brother when I was younger (she's had that machine forever). I really like the little upgrades like the needle threader, easy bobbin winder, and the ability to press a button to back stitch and lift the needle. I've made about 25 burp clothes, a pin cushion, and a baby quilt with it and it handled it with ease! I'm very happy with it and hope to have it for a long time!
This is my first computer sewing machine and I really enjoyed making a quilt for my son's 30th birthday. My only negative is that I chose to machine quilt and the space to manuver the quilt was very, very tight. I am glad it was only a twin...I couldn't imagine machine quilting a king on it!!!!!
I bought this machine less than a month ago and just broke the needle that it came with. Now, I cannot enter any of the needles that it came with.
