The bottle tree is made from metal and has a four prong base which helps it stand upright. The colors of the bottles are very pretty and the bottles are smaller than a standard wine bottle. I used dark blue wine bottles on the tree and saved the bottles that came with the tree for another project.
I have been wanting a tree of bottes like this one for a long time--now I got the chance to buy it and display in my little patch of fenced in yard--two weeks later four of the lighter colored bottles were fading so I sprayed one yellow -gold, one aqua,one pink, one green----because I wanted to still use these colorful bottles --it worked!

This item arrived very well packed with the glass bottles at the bottom on the box surrounded by Styrofoam. One should also not that the size of the bottles is not a typical wine bottle size but in fact about 2/3's its size. The reason I did not give this product 5 stars is for 2-fold. One, the item is a little top heavy when put together so its probably good that the bottles that it comes with are not full size. The metal stem comes in sections which makes the situation worse.Secondly, I have had my Glass Bottle Tree out in the Texas sun for only 4 days and the blue bottles have faded to clear. I am not sure if they will all do this or if its just the blue ones based on dye color etc...
I bought the bottle tree because it was on clearance and came with the bottles. Within two weeks the blue and purple bottle are totally clear with no color and the other colors have severely faded. If I had known they were going to fade I would have tried to coat them with something to keep the color from washing off. The tree is easy to put together and has held up so far in the weather. If you buy this product be prepared for the bottle color to fade after the first rainstorm.
This bottle tree is beautiful but beware the pole that holds the bottles is very lightweight and not sturdy enough to hold the weight of the bottles. I had to wire my between two trees to ensure it would not fall over especially in a storm or wind. You will need to tether a sturdy piece of iron bar or wooden stake behind the pole that comes with this bottle tree to be sure it doesn’t topple over or bend.
This bottle tree is GORGEOUS!!! BUT.. I have only had mine about 3 months and every bottle with the exception of two has faded to a ghost of the original color!!! Anywhere from totally clear (originally hot pink) to a PALE PASTEL of itself ?? I am so disappointed... I had intended to buy 2 more for gifts and an additional one for my front. No longer! They should have spent an extra $ and used UV protection. So sad.. just a little bit more effort and I could have given it the 5 stars it looked like it deserved on Day 1. Would not recommend.
Very cheaply made… The poles wouldn't even screw together because the fitting was pushed in. Additionally, each metal rung that the bottles hang on must be screwed in individually and they were not threaded correctly making it near impossible to thread them on completely. Don't waste your money. This is a very flimsy product and I'm certain will not hold up to any kind of wind.
With in 3 weeks the color faded and the bottles are all almost clear. If I have the box to send it back I would. I would not recommend this to anyone. A bottle tree is for in the yard not in a protected are where it is not exposed to the sun as I was told.
Beautiful for the first week! Then the color fades from the bottles, now I have 4 completely clear bottles and the other ones are fading fast. Very expensive to replace the bottles. The tree itself is not very sturdy and the arms did not screw on easily. DISAPPOINTED in the product! I would not recommend it. The only reason I gave it 1 star is because it would not let me submit a review without it!
