After reading reviews of a difficult assembly, we were relieved to find it just being somewhat time consuming. All parts were included and the step by instructions, although required to assemble, were very easy to follow. Love the style and drawers of this piece. Oddly, we found furniture stores were not carrying quality tv consoles, so this was our answer.
Not too tough to assemble, has a nice fit and finish when it's all complete, and it is STURDY. The only beef I had was that the cogs for the upper drawers were a little flimsy, and I broke two of them trying to get them tight enough. I phoned Bush directly and they sent me replacements quickly though, so it was no big deal. I have a 52 inch tv on top of it, and it looks great...the open center compartments are also nice for a center surround speaker, though they may be a little narrow for the purpose.
We bought this TV Stand for our Sony Bravia 55" LED-LCD TV. It is quality made and really adds to our Den. This product is more than I imagined. When we first opened up the box, we thought that it would take many hours to put together. Following the directions very closely, really made the difference. It took my youngest son(38) and I about 2-1/2 hours to put it together. We were amazed how simple it was. All the parts were as listed and everything fit perfectly. Thanks Bush Furniture for your quality craftsmanship and great directions. I know that we will enjoy it for many years to come.
Take your time in assembly. There are a couple of spots where you actually will need another set of hands. Called Customer Service with a question and they were professional and had the answer and took the time to walk me through the solution. It looks great now that it is done - actually fun.
This TV stand is beautiful. However, it requires quite a bit of time to put together; 3 hours-2people. The instructions were all in diagrams so you have to be very careful. In spite of the drama of putting it together, we really love it. The dark glass looks really good with an all black TV.
This product was well packaged with styrofoam and wrapping protecting each part from other parts. Even shipping gouges in the external box did not touch the parts inside. Small parts like dowels, glue, connectors, and screws were actually placed in a blister pack rather than loose bags, making them easy to find and hard to lose. All parts had plastic labels with part numbers that were fairly easy to remove after assembly. As others have said, the instructions were a 24-page series of figures, but they were actually easy to follow. All you have to do is match the part number or letter in the drawing with that on the part itself. There are quite a few parts, so you have to go slowly - but as long as you are careful, there are no tricky or unclear steps. Total time of assembly was about 5-6 hours. The unit itself contained surprisingly high quality materials for the price. The wood and presswood parts were heavy and held their shape without shattering or chipping, unlike other units I've assembled in the past. The predrilled holes and fittings were so accurate that pieces came together without too much force. The only exception was that when placing the top of the unit onto the four vertical supporting pieces, some moderately forceful adjustment of the two middle pieces had to be done before all connectors and dowels went into their corresponding slots. Other miscellaneous items: to stay in place, the smaller metal connectors for the drawers needed more tightening than the regular connectors for the rest of the unit. The back piece with cutouts for cables was not flimsy cardboard, but much sturdier material. The brown plastic covers for the connectors did not stay on well, but we left them off as the connectors were not very visible once assembled. The two glass door rubber stops fell off their holders, but a little Super Glue fixed that. You should have some extra wood glue on hand; depending on how liberally you use the glue they provide, you may run out. The two smoked glass doors were quite classy and had heavy duty adjustable hinges. The champagne maple finish felt silky and seemed fairly durable. Even the bottom of the base was finished with this veneer - showing great attention to detail. It's definitely darker than plain maple, but the end result (slightly reddish-orange) is quite pleasing. With its simple Euro style, the product would match many other furniture styles and be at home in a high-end living room. For the price (including the Site-to-Store savings on freight), the Bush Edgewood Video Base offers tremendous value, looks classy, has a timeless style, is solid (supports up to 240 lb TV), and assembly, though not trivial, is eased by obvious thoughtfulness in packing, packaging, and detailed pictograph instructions. Just take your time when you're putting it together, and do it with a buddy or two. We were extremely pleased with the end result. The unit looks like it could easily have come off a furniture showroom floor for $800 or more. You will not be ashamed of showing it off to your friends. Well done, Bush and Walmart! Note: this is a fairly heavy unit, and you will need 2 or more people to move it once you're done.
this was very time consuming my husband started in the morning and finish in the evening. the color didn't match the color on the picture which was on walmart.com, the color is actually lighter. the drawers are difficult to put in at first and the glass doors don't have anything keeping them closed, to easy for a baby to open. but after all the trouble it looks very nice.
We really liked the entertainment center online; however we find $108 for delivery to be a bit pricey and put a damper on our thoughts about the final price for the unit. If you have a huge truck and a few strong pals, you wouldn't need delivery, but we weren't so lucky. We think it looks great put together - however it did take about four hours to do and we were shocked at how many pieces it came in. It requires a lot of space to unpack. We think it looks better than we expected and find the TV stand a great compliment to our new 52" flat screen Samsung.
I loved this product after I able to finally place it together. Instructions could have been a little more informative. Had a hard time placing the glass doors together without thorough instructions. Love the top drawers and able to have 6 component compartments. My wife liked the color I wish there would have been other color choices, but overall I like the the product.
While this TV is appears to be constructed of quality man made materials...it is rather cumbersome to put together...I spent over 6 hours assembling it. The finished product looks great and is of much better quality than you could find preassembled for the same money in a store.
