I ordered the desks directly from Bush and the hutches from Walmart.com. Upon assembling the desks a few pieces had been damaged in shipping. Customer Service was excellent in assisting me in correcting the issues. The assembly of the desk took about 2 hours, but it was easy. The only tools you need is a hammer and philips head screw driver. I am extremely happy with the overall look of the desk and hutch combination!
I needed something for my office until I find the perfect desk - a better quality desk. This desk bridges the gap. Understanding, that this desk is not hardwood yet for its listed price I cannot ask for more. This desk has a sophisticated presence and looks better in my home than on the online image. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a desk with similar specifications and budget.
It's exactly as expected after reading other reviews. The look is pretty and not cheap, the only thing really cheap is the back board which is little more than glorified cardboard but it does the trick. Assembly was lengthy but not difficult, I found the instructions user friendly.
I did not find it difficult to put together and did so by myself. Just make sure you do put the back panel on! I think it looks much more expensive than it cost and is very sturdy! I had it delivered express in 2 days and it was right on time. Love the black antique finish. I am considering purchasing the matching TV stand.
Overall, I think the product looks and works wonderful. Very beautiful to look at especially for a PC desk. However, my only complaint is that the Desk top finish had a nick on it when I pulled it from the box and reviewed it. I was extremely careful and methodical in removing the desk, especially the top section, from the packaging. All the parts were there as required, but that nick - and it's small, but noticeable - is still there. Only saving grace for me is that the nick is on the back left side area of the Desk top. I cover it up with a phone stand. I'm not sure what may have caused it from the factory, perhaps during packaging?... But, I haven't the patience to go through the process to try and have another top or desk sent to replace it. Too bad though, because otherwise I could've given this product a perfect score!
Good desk. I did not give it 5 stars because it comes in like a gazillion pieces. There are MANY bags of screws and the labels all have 6 or more digit identifiers. It gave me a headache just trying to find the correct bag of screws. Took a long time to put together, but it is sturdy after completion. Happy with the desk but I felt like the company could have put some of this together before sending it out.
I have the file cabinet that matches this desk. I had this desk for about a year when we moved across country. The movers broke a leg off in the move. I love this desk, although it was a little hard putting together. It has everything I need to sit my all in one computer on. I love the style and the finish.
This computer desk is just what I pictured. The cherry top is heavy and doesn't look at all cheap. The black finish is just as the picture shows. I took my good time assembling it, and had no trouble. The instructions are very good. The tower and modems and wires can all be hidden, and the keyboard is in a closed drawer with a pull-down front for easy access. It doesn't feel flimsy at all. I think this product is well priced.
I needed two desks and wanted to buy 2 from another company: however, they only had one left in stock. It was about the same price and it was made with Spanish wood. So, I looked on the Walmart site and tried to find a desk that was similar in color and design. The Bush Stanford desk came with a lot of parts and took hours to put together and they included glue for the install. There was a folded piece of black cardboard in the box and after hours of putting all of the pieces together, we found the desk to be unstable and it had a lot of movement. As it turns out, the CARDBOARD was the support for the entire back of the desk. That cardboard had to be screwed into very cheap pressboard. It is shameful that in the year 2013, when you would expect a company to use something that I recall is called WOOD.... NO, I would not recommend you waste your money on this desk unless you have a lot of time to put it together and are ok with cardboard holding the entire desk together.
Pre-drilled holes don't line up. Front leg holes are not lined up in the center of the leg. Desk wobbles. Had to customize desk to make it sturdy. If it hadn't been such a pain to put together and ship it back I would have returned it.
