I was not expecting fine furniture at this price, but I'm pleasantly surprised by its appearance and apparent durability. The door hinges are good quality that hold the door well, the shelves are thick and unlikely to bow with heavy books. The back is paperboard, but I didn't expect it to be wood, and I am keeping it against a wall. All in all, excellent for the price. This arrived in fine condition - a big, flat, heavy box that weighed more than 100 pounds. Assembly took several hours.
The media cabinet is nice went together easy as it turned out the cabinet I ordered from Furniture Row to match our new desks did show up, so I started searching for something else . The black walnut matches our new desks perfectly and I saved 1,000$
The box you get will be heavy, and my first thought was "I bet the glass is breaken", but low and behold everything was flawless. It was about a 2 beer, 2 hour assembly job, and would probably take longer with a friend! But, not complicated and relatively easy. In the end, the piece is beautiful and very sturdy, I am very happy with the construction.
Looks excellent when together. Comes completely disassembled. Only complaint for the price it really should have a back that is wood with openings for the wires. The back is presently that heavy paper with punch out holes for your wiring. Overall though really like this product.
I brought two of these to compliment my fireplace, but the depth proved to be too much. I would make sure if getting these to compliment your existing furniture, that you take good measurements. Otherwise, they look very stylish! I love the distressed finish, and assembly was pretty easy. All in all, I'm glad I got them. They're a good product for the price!
I am very happy with the colors, materials, and overall look, but the assembly took forever and it was not until the 7th or 8th step (of 24 something) that it mentions you will need the assistance of another person...which you will need again for several other steps! I was also not super happy with how well the top molding secures together & to the front. I actually had to add two pin nails after I completed assembly to keep them in proper position because they had slipped slightly down leaving a noticeable gap probably as a result of the hammering & screwing of the back & other parts! Yet, the finished product looks really nice!
My daughter put the unit together in a few hours. Unfortunately we received the unit damaged in the box so we had to call Bush for the part which came quickly. The instructions would be better with some written directions instead of just pictures. I also wish the back had optional punch out holes as I had numerous wires to fit through the small hole provided. Overall the cabinet looks good and I think the cost of it was worth the money I spent.
Two piece's were damaged and had to contact the manufacturer for replacement. No issues with them replacing, but still waiting on the parts.
This is a decent looking piece of furniture, but I was hoping the quality would be a little better. The cabinet backing is not wood at all - it's simply a thin layer of paperboard/cardboard type material that has the "cherry finish" look to it. It doesn't do a very good job of making the cabinet as sturdy as it should be. The rest of the furniture looks to be made out of plywood with a thin veneer to give it a nice look. One of the side pieces had a corner that was chipped/mashed but it wasn't enough for me to send it back. In fact, it's hardly noticeable from where it's sitting in my living room. Assembly did take a while but I found the directions to be pretty straight forward. Although I did make a mistake and installed the fixed shelf upside down so that the black side is up. After the dowel pins and glue were already in place of course... I left it as is - still looks nice. One other note - each of the black pieces of the assembly have thin brown lines/streaks throughout... they looked like scratches at first and I wondered if the piece was damaged. As it turns out, that's what gives it the "antique" finish apparently. I was worried initially but it ended up looking quite nice.
The description should show you the sides. The black finish is called an antique finish so they can streak it and look like a four year old painted it. Some of the lock mechanisms would not lock or the holes were misaligned.
