I didn't see the previous reviews before I purchased this trail camera at the local Walmart... and I probably wouldn't have bought this camera had I seen the very bad reviews. As it turns out, I'm very glad that I didn't see the bad reviews because my camera has performed exceptionally well. I've had the camera in continuous use since it was purchased about a month ago. I loaded the camera with 8 AA alkaline batteries (you can use either 4 or 8 batteries, either alkaline or lithium) and so far the alkaline batteries are holding up well... after several hundred night pictures and about 30 videos (15 seconds each). So, from my perspective, the battery life isn't a problem. The pictures (both single and series of three) and videos have been exceptionally clear both day and night. Initially, I had a few pictures without animals in them... I then reduced the default delay of 10 seconds down to 5 seconds and haven't had the problem since. I have attached examples of nighttime and daytime photos taken by this camera (I don't know if the quality will be impacted by the website... but I'm certainly satisfied with the originals). In summary... so far this camera has proven to be a good performing product at a very reasonable price when compared to other game cameras on the market.

At $167, this 8 mp camera with viewer screen, seemed like a decent price. And it was. Getting it started was a breeze, I used 8 lithium AA, I set it up next to a salt block and two piles of apples, along a deer trail. I set it up as follows; with the camera angling over the bait and somewhat down the trail one direction, at about knee hieght, on maximum movement sensitivity, on the three picture burst with a one minute delay until taking another three pictures, I got pictures of deer coming, going, eating, licking, standing, burping, I got pictures of possum and squirrel too, I got pictures at night and day, I had roughly 200 pictures in 13 days, there were about 24 pictures that appeared to be a miss, i.e. pictures of grass and trees, but they still has a time/date/moon phase stamp that I felt gave me valuable information about my station. I got several comments from coworkers saying they thought the pictures were very clear/sharp. Thanks Bushnell, Thanks Walmart, P.S. also, a couple years ago, Walmart removed guns from their website, I wrote several emails and made several phone calls, the answer I got back was, "we were scared of liability issues so we removed them", and now I see they have added them back, I am very pleased with this, Good for you Walmart, God bless America, etc., etc.,, please spread the word to all your hunting friends about the guns on the website coming back.

Bought this at my local Walmart store for $167.00 after my trusty Moultrie finally kicked the bucket after 5 years. This Bushnell was very sparadic about triggering and taking photos. I would leave food out in front of it, the food would be gone and there were footprints right in front of the camera, but there would be only one or two photos on the card, then it would get stuck in sleep mode. I emailed Bushnell customer service and got no response after one week. So I took it back thinking it was just defective. Got another one. Same thing, emailed customer service again, waited a week, no response. I took it back too and got another Moultrie, which has worked out beautifully. I still haven't heard one thing back from Bushnell customer service. I definately do not recommend this trail camera or any other Bushnell product.

Batteries only last two or three days at best.

Batteries only last a few days, not the six months as advertized. I'm using the Scandisk memory as suggested by the instructions. Walmart doesn't carry the item so I can't return it.
