The Café microwave has so many settings it's like having a third oven. Convection, air fry to name a couple. It's simple to use, super efficient and much more stylish than any other microwave out there .
I love the dial aspect to selecting an item, a time. I've used the air fryer mode and I think it did well. And, the door latch is quieter than my old GE microwave.
Great microwave that has a lot of nice features like being able to use it as a convection oven, and also an air fryer. The exhaust venting is great as well. The build quality is rock solid, doesn't feel light and cheap. The door has some very nice heft to it. I thought using a dial would be a bit cumbersome, but I got used to it quickly. Also it has a quick 'Add 30 Seconds' button, so its very convenient to put something in there and hit one button and off you go!
This has been a great microwave. The beep when food is ready isn't too abrasive, the 30 second button starts the microwave right away and then spin the dial to add time. The lowe power than most microwaves is actually a good thing. Gentle heat where things can be warm or hot, not just frozen or sparingly hot. And of course it looks really great!
First of all, it's beautiful. Great craftsmanship and it feels much more sturdy than our last microwave. They thought of the customer with this design. Minimal plastic and the drip edge on the bottom that's angled to collect in the corner is a nice touch.
Super sleek. Super style. Great look. We saw 2 appliances in store. Immediately went online to see the full set. We are in a time of our life where we can splurge a bit more for functionality and looks. So much so that the Grind and Brew coffeemaker and toaster to match are now on order. A wonderful upgrade from pure stainless. 4 grandkids over yesterday, not a fingerprint on them.
I've had my microwave for 2 months now and it is fabulous. My only complaint is that the display (besides the clock) is dark. So at night you can't see any of the buttons, you have to turn a kitchen light on to see what you're doing. Other than that, everything is great and I've gotten lots of compliments on it. It does take a bit to get used to the round button for setting time etc. No more just press and hold the 1 button for a quick one minute cycle. But it's still pretty quick to get what you need and there is a “my cycle” that you can set to be whatever time you want with one press. Defaults to 30 seconds but I changed mine to 10. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase!
Love our convection microwave. We haven't used the convection baking option very often because it takes awhile to heat up. Use the microwave daily, and only a few minor complaints. One is fingerprint smudges on the keypad and the handle. The other is that we have some issues figuring out how to adjust cook time or add time if we stop the microwave before it finishes the time.
As far as I am concerned this is the worst microwave I have ever owned since the introduction of microwaves! Someone needs to EXPLAIN why the FAN has to run non-stop for almost 30 minutes after cooking something that takes 10-12 minutes. As far as I am concerned, Conns Appliances and GE can come and take this thing OUT of my home before it burns the house down!
Purchased the microwave in November 2022. Handle began peeling in December 2023. One year and one month after it was installed. Do not recommend the GE Cafe Microwaves. Our model number is CVM517P2R1S1
