Problem, newly built home with 10-year warranty had basic appliances that did not meet my cooking needs. Any replacement had to install within current kitchen design with no changes to electrical/gas or builder warranty would be voided. I updated all my appliances to Cafe once the one year warranty on the original appliances had expired. This 36" gas cooktop replaced same from competitor that did not meet my needs and was a poor design. I ordered Cafe 36" gas cooktop with copper dials which turned out to be stunning. Two left burners with same output and grill settings was perfect for my Swiss Diamond grill which also fits this cooktop without overlapping the dials. Another plus, dials with light when on and having two power burners instead of only one. I also noticed that every burner lights immediately and so far has never gone out. Old cooktop took several attempts to light and I also had several times where burners went out when going to a low flame. My orginal cooktop was only 1-year old but this Cafe cooktop has proven to be superior in function as well as in design. I love it and highly recommend.

I love this Cafe' Gas Cooktop! At 36", it is spacious with a lot of burner options and choices. It cooks great! So glad I chose the Cafe' line of appliances for my entire kitchen!
We bought the entire GE CAFE all glass front appliances. We love them. They're very contemporary, sleek lines and do not show fingerprints. The stove top grates are extra heavy duty and taller than our previous GE PROFILE appliances. The knobs light up when burner is lit. The dishwasher is the quietest one I've ever owned. We also have the 5-in-one microwave and are amazed as the options it offers. Love love love our new GE CAFE appliances.
This is an amazing product, the finial finish is beyond a 10, the knobs having under led light...Right it is a special feature.Being it is stainless, we do a light claen after each usage, once it is cool, the casted grates lift simple and you expose the area that needs to be address, very simple.
The cafe cooktop was a necessity in my new kitchen. I have always dreamed of having a gas cooktop and since I was doing a major remodel I did some research and decided on this cooktop. Overall I really love this cooktop. The flame is very precise. The low is actually low. My main concern is how quickly and often the stainless steel is scratching. It managed to have several big scratches before it was even installed. It was scratching just from simply trying to clean the tape residue off from the packaging. I am a very cautious person when it comes to taking care of things. I was taking great care to clean this cooktop and it was still scratching. I am honestly concerned about what this expensive cooktop is going to look like in a few months. It's disappointing that such an overall great cooktop could look awful soon.
While I love the gas cooktop, it doesn't clean easily without scratching the stainless surfaces. We use microfiber clothes and the only when necessary scrubby. After 2 years the stainless is ok; it's scratched but not offensive, just annoying as an owner who sees the swirls. The cast iron grates and the flat top are holding up well. We do use them often. The knobs on the other hand and little locked light are poorly made for such a “high quality” cooktop.
Tri burner is an issue, it makes boom sound and shuts off in high. Also below the Tri burner the stainless steel looks burnt. It is new and been 3 weeks delivered.
The build quality is very nice. Tri-ring burner goes out when at its lowest setting and we have not been able to resolve it. It also doesn't heat like it should. Other than that the unit is nice.
