Have had these knives for a couple of years now. I love the balance and look of these knives. Always stays sharps and cleans well with a light wash (organic Teatree detergent). A very complete set, I only wish I had bought the one with the cleaver, I am going to have to add that later for sure.
I have the 8 piece set, which is this minus the steak knives. It is a total joy to use. The blades hold their edge superbly and do re-sharpen to scalpel like sharpness if you need to. For the price, this is by far the best knife set you can possibly buy.
These are the best knives I've over had the pleasure of using. I cook everyday and use these every day and I'm still so satisfied. I purchased these over a month ago and highly recommend. Great quality! If you are looking for a great knife set, look no further. You won't be disappointed
Got the Katana set before Christmas and tried it out on a large roast. It was effortless to cut with. I made cut so thin you could see through them. I continue to follow the store directions about washing by hand and drying right away. These beat a much more expensive set by the common German suppliers by far. Their over priced under preforming set is now in the Sally Ann box now.
I have this knife set and it is wonderful! They are the best knives I have ever owned. Just be careful, they are extremely sharp!!!
I bought these knives 3 years ago. I use them everyday as I love to cook. They cut through without effort, great balance and, even now, they still feel like new. I even gave away my Henkel 5 stars as my Katana Calphalon are so much better! My only regret is not to have bought the larger set.
Being a Chef by trade I rely on good knives at work and at home. I bought the small set 4 years ago for home use and these knives still amaze me,they're still sharp and dont require to much care .. I was them by hand with only lukewarm water (no soaps) and dry immediately. I dont over use my steel, its only for maintenance. All in all I am very glad that I got this set shipped to Netherlands since they dont sell these series over here.
We received these knives at our bridal shower. We were really impressed when they arrived. By the time the wedding rolled around a few months later, we were ready for new knives.
