This is my second purchase of this product, well not exactly my second purchase. I still own the first one that I bought years ago and it still works fine. It works so good that my wife who is a culinary professor at our community college wanted one for her class hence the second purchase. This electronic spark ignitor produces an awesome quanitity of sparks that we use on our kitchen stove and our barbeque grill. It costs more than the plastic propane types but it has a nice long nozzle that is perfect for reaching inside your bbq grill and it is powerful. By the time you waste your money on a dozen propane type lighters you could have bought this really nice (and safe) electronic one. 4 stars.
We use a longer version of these at work to light gas equipment. At home I have a propane gas log that sometimes doesn't like to light up front. We were using a butane match but didn't like leaving it near the fireplace. No fuel in this item - just a battery - and it works great.
I purchased this for my mother, who is 90 years old and has arthritic hands. She is unable to use matches or one of the butane grill lighters. This product has one easy to press button, and uses a spark, not an open flame. She loves it, and has recommended it to all her elderly friends.
