Ordered this piece for a coffee table/storage chest in front of a Daybed-perfect. The first lid came without the pre-drilled holes and Hayneedle sent a new lid within a couple of days. Great price too-I shopped around prior to ordering it.
Its nice. Assembly wasn't hard, but they forgot to put the instructions in the box. This would have made assembly incredibly easy.
I bought this to use as a toy box for my granddaughter and it's great. I expected it to be white and it is a more yellow based ivory. It was missing a couple screws and the joints aren't perfectly fitting together but overall it's fine for the function. Very nice people to work with. A great company
First chest arrived with mfg flaw on lid. Easy return to store. 2nd chest had minor shipping damage, but we kept (did not want to wait for 3rd chest to arrive). Fairly easy to assemble. Cost less than identical product at Target. Was able to cover minor shipping damage with black marker.
The chest comes in 6 pieces and was easy enough to pit together but once it is together- the edges dont seal together. So there are gaps in each joint. I push with all my strength and the joints sealed but the wooden dowells and screws it came with did not hold the pieces together tightly.
The quality of this piece is not worth the price. One of the side pieces was broken/split about half way down but we opted to glue it rather than go through the hassle to return it since it will be a toy chest and will get beat-up a little anyway. The assembly was easy but the pieces didn't fit together that well.
I ordered this excitedly and waited for the site to store deliver method. When I opened the box, the original package was inside, completly opened. The pieces to the furniture was scattered, scratched, and broken. It was apparent that the original box was dropped, then reboxed uncaringly, and sent to me anyway. I certainly can't give a good rating to a product that was delivered to me in pieces. And I certainly don't dare reorder another one.
This chest is advertised as ""solid wood construction"" - but it is actually all chip-board. It arrived without a single one of the ""included screws"". I was lucky to have had some of my own that fit. Also, all of the pre-drilled pilot holes did not line up with the holes in the hinges. I had to drill my own pilot holes. And to top it off, one corner of the box was crushed, with damage to one corner of the chest. All in all, not worth the money in my opinion.
Worst product I've purchased in a long time. I am returning it. Maybe 1 small blanket could fit but nothing else
The antique ivory chest I ordered was much more yellow in color. The image on the website is much lighter than what I received. Plus the Antique Ivory color of my furniture is much lighter than the chest color. This let off a huge color difference.
