[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Canon RS40 Scanner software was easy to install for Windows or Mac. Software allows to scan docs or pictures. The picture scanned was very clear and quick. My mom has many albums of photos that we need to scan for her from 50 years ago. It was easy to help her digitize her photos and keep the family history.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have an office at home and do a lot of printing and scanning so it is important for me to use a good one. The CANON USA image formula RS40 Photo and Document Scanner is a good one. This scanner was easy to install and is compact with small foot print. It has good print and scan speed and great color photo print. Some of the other good features are auto photo fix, face sharpener, and red eye correction. I am happy with the handling of the many different types of thick or thin documents. It is fast and scans both sides at the same time in color with just one touch! It has a 1 year warranty and U S based tech support that is important to me. A wonderful addition to my office!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Omg was i need of a printer, bt not just a printer. One that scans & takes photos! This imageFORMULA RS40 Photo and Document Scanner has lot of great benefits/features. I can make scrapbooks of my friends/family, since i'm a creative person & share them. Bright vivid colors! Prints smoothly with no crashes. Scans my documents on both sides without have to flip the paper with clear document texting. Scans up to 40 documents at a time. Best when i'm in a rush. Love the Canon CaptureOnTouch scanning software for windows. I can transform my documents to digital files with any file format by either saving them to my files or third party service, which is so convenient. Comes with 1 year warranty. Okay I'm sure there's better scanners out there but this is the best one that I've ever owned. My aunt recently passed away and she had a lot of pictures. I thought about going to legacy box and just shipping the photos off to get digitized but they wanted about $630 to scan 1000 photos and put them on a usb drive. After looking ofe different options I purchased both this scanned and a laptop for less then what legacy box would charge for 1000 photos. yes I have put several hours into scanning the photos but honestly the most time consuming part is sorting them by size and orientation. My aunt ended up having 2500 photos. After that i scanned my 700 and am currently scanning my Mom's photos and am up to about 3200. It advertises 40 photos per minute this is at 300 DPI the default when you start a 600 DPI which I think is a good resolution to scan. at 600 is very quick maybe 20 photos per minute or more I haven't really timed it. I also love the future where you can scan both sides of the picture or document at once this is going to make text time very easy.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have hundreds and hundreds of photo prints and I wanted to digitalize and put on my computer to save. The Canon Image Formula RS40 Photo and Document Scanner is perfect . It's compact and easy to use. Getting it set up with my computer was simple and not complicated at all. You can do one picture at a time or several . I am very happy with this scanner and can't wait to get all of my pictures scanned and save.
Instructions for basic procedure are NOT TOO clear. You need to write instructions for an eight grade level.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am truly impressed with the functionality, durability and quality of this printer/scanner. I never would have thought I would of needed or wanted a printer like this, but I am so thankful for it. Not only is it super easy to use it prints so well. They colors are so vibrant and the pictures come out so clear. There are so many features to this printer it is truly unbelievable. I love how easy it was to set up and how user friendly it is. I would definitely recommend this printer/scanner to anyone who is in the market for a new one or even to replace your existing one as you will not be disappointed by this one.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This scanner is so easy to set up - it only took several minutes. I had to download software on my laptop, and after that I simply connected the scanner through USB cable, and it was ready to go. The quality of scanning is great, and it scans pictures fast. The scanner is gentle on the surface of the pictures, I didn't see any scratching or signs of bending after they passed through the machine. Overall very happy with this scanner.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This scanner is incredibly easy to setup and use. There are a bunch of protective material to remove, cables to connect, and software to download, but then it's one-click to scan. The scan itself doesn't look identical to the print. I'm guessing it takes some manipulation once scanned that I didn't want to mess with. Otherwise, it's compact and has a simple interface to use!
The color correction is not very good and does not distorts human subjects at times. If there was a way of totally disabling the color correction and let the user use Photoshop for this task it would be great. If you are only doing gray scale (i.e. black and white) this can be worked around a bit. I am going to be using this scanner mainly for very old BW and old documents and this unit is well suited for this task.
