I have only had it a few weeks but so far everything has been great. The upgrade plan was a good thing for me as I live on a tight budget. My only negitive would be the cost of replacement ink! Having worked in a Chemical field--WOW. But I am very happy with my printer and the system.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off this can be used wireless which is super awesome. It can print, copy and scan things with your laptop, cell phone anything wireless. Also great because it's easy for my grandkids to use this and they have fun with it also can do homework with this. Just all around great product. Thank you.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this printer for about three weeks now and I love it. All the printout's look vibrant, come out fast and smoothly. The ink and printer were really easy to install. I was able to hook up my printer and start using it within minutes. This is overall a great printer and Worked out perfectly for my little office space
I wanted a good printer that was grey/black, had a paper caset and didn't take up a lot of room. This printere definitely fit the need. Four stars becasue the build quality could have been better. The power button is cheap and is not a solid button when pressing. I would have gone with Canon's newer printer but it was only offered in white.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Setting up the printer wasn't too bad. The online instructions had a photo slideshow taking you through the steps, though I'd have preferred the steps laid out so I could scroll through them. Maybe the slideshow works better if you're on your phone. I had a little trouble with connecting to the wifi, as it didn't magically discover the network like the instructions inferred. Instead, I had to manually select the network and enter the password using the four buttons, scrolling through the alphabet to select each letter/character. Likely an issue with my network setup than this unit. The printer went through an automatic calibration/cleaning cycle that pulls a couple of sheets of paper from the internal tray. One thing I noticed was that it was printing on both sides of the paper, and I didn't even notice it flipping the sheets. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I remember the less than fun days of having to print odd pages, turn then over and manually feed them back into the printer for the even pages. I tried a test print using a photo I had on my computer that I'd originally taken on my phone, selecting semi-gloss photo paper from the rear paper feed and dropped in some old photo paper I had. I was very impressed with the resulting print. It was reasonably quick, but great quality. Good contrast and color, no streaking, and printed right to the edge of the paper. To check out the scanner, I thought I might as well try the image I just printed, to compare with the original image. Scanning, like the printing, was pretty easy to set up, but the results were somewhat disappointing. There was significant banding showing up in the image and overall the colors were faded somewhat, like the contrast needed fixing. I tried adjusting some of the quality/resolution settings, but it made little difference. Another image - the cover for the photo paper I had nearby - scanned a little better, so it may have been the gloss on the photo paper itself that was throwing the scan off. I'll have to experiment further before attempting to digitize any old photos.
Not easy setup it up to my phone. I followed the directions and it still not connecting to my phone.
I find this printer to be excellent in most matters except to ink storage/re-capture. Ink cartridges should NOT be blacked-out from fulllness inspection. There should NOT be the suggestion that people continue to clean/deep-clean the print-head with over-whelming amounts of cartridge ink that really serves to fill the waste tank and shorten the useful life of the printer. There should be the advisory that turning off the printer between useages serves to cause the printer to go through a clean cycle depositing ink into the waste tank, which continues to be all but inaccessible for most users. Once the waste tank/ink absorber pads are filled, the printer is out of action for most users who cannot strip the unit down to the chassis for waste tank access/clean-out.
This printer was nearly impossible to connect to WiFi. The screen on the printer is so small that you can hardly read the instructions. I eventually had to get help from AppleCare and connect it manually to my router. It was an extremely tedious and time-consuming process.
Purchased March 7, would not print copies on March 28 Called canon and the error code on machine was such that online assistance could not help with. The 5 star thing is it was under warranty and the representative had no hesitation in sending out a replacement. Tax time so a delay of over a week to get new printer is stressful.
I couldn't get the printer to work, your support staff were incredibly hard to reach and when reached didn't help enough. So I sent the printer back.
