This is great to expand your shower stall. The finish is nice, seems to be durable. The mounting directions were clear other than we pre-drilled for the molly bolts and the instructions weren't particularly clear on what size drill bit. Very pleased with product.
The instructions are clear, and include a good me of measurements and graphics. It may help to have a second set of hands when getting the rod mounted though I was able to do it on my own with some creative propping up. It looks great and made for a nice update to our kids' bathroom.
I bought this when I remolded my bathroom in my bedroom....I chose the brushed chrome since it matched my light fixture and towel holders. My husband put it up in no time flat. We mounted it on "studs" in the wall so that way it would be really sturdy....and the part I like the best is that my shower curtain no longer "clings" to me while I shower and it is much more roomy...I would definitley recommend this product.
I purchased this adjustable shower rod with the hope of giving some extra elbow room in the shower. It did just that, but we now get the shower-curtain hangars caught up on the lip of the connection every time we attempt to slide the curtain open. The rod is strong, keeps clean, and has a nice finish. But the adjustable feature of it creates a headache. I have covered the adjustment point with a piece of tape to aid in its function but it is a big of an eyesore. If I had it to do over, I would have spent the money and purchased the fixed-sized ones.
Very difficult to install. This sounds ridiculous, but if you mounted the brackets first, it was almost impossible to attach one end to the other. Also, if you have a 'standard' bathroom layout with the toilet next to the tub, the shower curtain is practically in your face. Hopefully mine won't rust. The roominess is good.
Bottom line- Don't waste your money on this shower rod. A week after installation it started to rust, it has been about 30 days now and the rust is unbelievable! (See attached pictures) We purchased shower curtain hooks at the same time and they rusted as well. UNBELIEVABLE!! <<DO NOT BUY!!>>
I love the extra room in the shower, however, this rod is not the one to buy. The mounts are of pretty poor quality. It seems rather flimsy and not very sturdy. If my 1 yr old pulls on the curtain at all it is going to come down. When it does, I'm going to spend a little extra money and buy one that will last.
I installed this curtain rod in my newly remodeled bathroom in January. It is now August and the rod is so rusted that it is ruining my new white shower curtain and liner. The whole length of it is rusting, but especially the ends. The curtain hangs higher than a normal shower and therefore farther away from the shower spray, which should keep it dryer. Also, it hangs only inches from a new heavy duty fan and still rusts. It was expensive for a shower curtain, but if I had known it would rust I would have spent even more money on a better one. It is of poor quality and I would never buy another one.
I bought this and tried to install it (following the easy instructions) problem...... it wont ever line up. I measured to make sure it wasn't me but nope...... there is NO way it will ever fir the tub! There is not enough angle cut to allow movement and placement. Also it ruined my wall because now I can't pull out the drywall anchors. NOT happy.
As others have said it has badly rusted. I love the curved curtain rod as it makes for a much more pleasant showering experience, however, it has badly rusted. It took about 2-3 months for the rust to set in, and now, a year later, it has gotten to the point of a complete eye-sore and needs to be replaced due to the appearance.
