This armoire is exactly what I as looking for. It is made of hard and heavy wood. It was easy to assemble and all the pieces fit together perfectly. I would recommend this product to anyone. The only drawbacks with this piece are that you have to have all of the doors open to use the computer and they don't slide or fold all the way back and that the keyboard drawer is about 3-4 inches deep so to use the keyboard it hurts your wrists a little. I just placed a phone book under mine and it seemed to help. For the price this piece is over all perfect!
I was looking for an armoire to place my desktop in and I needed a lot of space. I wanted to put it in my formal living room so when not in use it would look like a fancy cabinet. I had been looking for a long time and as others had stated they were $1000 and up. When I came across this one I was very impressed. The feature that really sold me were the reviews which said it was so easy to assemble. Well its true my husband did it practically by himself and it was so easy. It only took him about an hour and a half. I did not have a problem with the doors or knobs. They were all in alignment. No one is aware a computer is in it and it looks really great in my living room. It held my 20 inch monitor and my wireless printer. I have a lot of stuff in it and what I love the most is that I can shut the doors and everything is out of sight. It was worth the money and is a sturdy piece of furniture. I have hardwood floors so it isnt a problem to move it around.
Good quality armoire. It was very easy to assemble. I set it up with my 10 year old daughter. Love it, it looks good in my house! It was worth the money.
I paired up the bookcases with my armoire to put in my study and I think they look fabulous. I am using the armoire for my computer and I would highly recommend it. I have paid much more for pieces of furniture that were inferior in quality. I think I got what I paid for.
This armoire is the real deal! No cheap particleboard here - it's actual wood, very sturdy and substantial. In fact, the whole Canopy Cornerstone line appears to be of the same quality. I also own the coffee table, console table, and large buffet all in the mahogany finish, which is even nicer than the photos. (They make the furniture look almost black, but in person it has a warmer chocolate hue.) My husband and I are using the armoire to house our 32" flatscreen TV, which is just the right size; I don't think you could fit a larger one. We decided to remove the top doors because they didn't fold all the way back when open, and we prefer the open look anyway. But the bottom doors keep the appearance tidy, hiding away all your TV equipment, video game consoles, DVDs etc with plentiful shelves and a nice drawer. If you want the Canopy piece(s) to look a little more unique, try switching out the standard knobs for some interesting ones. This really elevates the look! My only critique is that the finish does seem to scratch a tad easily, but Walmart provides touch-up markers in the packaging, so it's very easy to hide. All in all, this collection is quite an impressive value. Sure, you could go to a fancy furniture store and buy something preassembled for double to quadruple the price, but if you don't mind doing it yourself (which really isn't difficult with two people) you can save SO MUCH money without skimping on quality. Budget-conscious buyers: THIS is the collection you want.
This arrived about 10:00 am this morning - and was put together by noon. Very impressed with the quality for the price. It looks like a piece of living room furniture -- the look I was after. The storage is pretty spacious -- I did not put a tv in it, but rather am using it for other storage. Shipping was no problem - and no damage to report. Overall very happy with the purchase!
I considered purchasing an armoire from one of the higher end stores, and was willing to spend quite a bit more for a quality armoire. For the most part, I'm very glad I saved my money. I read the reviews several times on here before making my final decision. Overall, the reviews were right on point. I couldn't believe the quality of this armoire, and yes, for all who doubt, it is truly wood - not flimsy particle board anywhere - through and through. And it's a snap to put together. My son and I put it together in about 45 minutes. The only reason I didn't give it five full stars across the board is because the top of the armoire is unfinished, just rough wood, although that part can't be seen unless the person looking at it is well over six feet tall. I have written to Walmart to see if they can change just that piece. So we'll see. But other than that flaw, I'm pretty happy with the purchase.
I normally do not do reviews. However, with all the pieces of furniture I have put together in my lifetime, this was by far the simplest. When I received the shipment I thought oh god there is going to be 1,000 pieces in this box. To my surprise, more then half of the Armoire is put together and the rest isn't hard at all. The item looks great when finished. I would recommend this product
I am very pleased with the cupboard--its size, space, and flexibility. Ease of set up was actually a 5 except for the fact that the top was cracked on the side and also did not fit well because the basic frame unit "A" was not hinged correctly and the back of the unit was higher than the sides by 1/4". All in all, the problems were not major and I like the unit a lot. It is good looking, practical, and fits in nicely with our house.
This is a beautiful piece of furniture and I was very satisfied until about a week ago. I noticed a hole on the side of the front piece. The hole was almost 1/8 th of an inch in diameter and there was a powdery dust on the floor beneath. I couldn't figure out how that happened. Then a couple of day later another hole a few inches above the other hole and more powdery dust on the floor. I decided something had to be eating my furniture so I sprayed insecticide on that piece of wood. The next day there was an insect on the floor where all the powdery dust had fallen from the holes. I looked on the internet and found that it was a powderpost beetle. I have only had this piece of furniture for three weeks and I have never had a problem with this before I purchased this piece and I am afraid there may be more of these insects that will attack my other pieces of furniture. Just wanted everyone to be aware.
