Use as recommended by physician. Flush bulb and pipe thoroughly with water before each use. Fill enema bulb with warm water or physician recommended enema solution. Insert enema pipe into bulb making sure the open ended nozzle is upright. Apply lubricating jelly to enema pipe. Expel air from pipe by squeezing bulb. Place child on bed covered with a waterproof sheet and bath towel. Position child with knees drawn up. While child maintains this position, gently insert lubricated enema pipe into rectum, and squeeze bulb slowly. If resistance occurs, pause momentarily, and then gently continue. NOTE: If bowels are not loosened, repeat in 15-20 minutes. An enema is not always expelled immediately. Cleaning and Storage: Separate pipe from bulb. Wash both parts thoroughly in warm soapy water. Rinse bulb and pipe several times, squeeze out excess water, and air dry.
